Jan Ang recently accepted a new role as a supervisor at the BCIT library’s Learning Commons, building on his previous role as an administrative assistant and his strong interest in student services and education management.
With a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and experience working in corporate roles, he came to BCIT as a mature engineering student looking for a career change. After his first year of studies, he Joined the SMART department as a summer co-op student employee. He continued working there in the following years while serving as a peer tutor at the Learning Commons.
Jan was actively involved in many student services through various ways. He lived in campus housing, tutored at the library, participated in student clubs, and received support from the International Center and Financial Aid Office as an international student and a bursary recipient. He was a regular at the Recreation Center and also used the Clinic and Counselling services. These experiences made his time at BCIT meaningful and inspired him to pursue a long-term career at the institution. He is currently pursuing graduate studies in education to support his personal and professional growth.
