Installing Benches in Guichon Alley

October 9, 2014 by Sarah Campbell Leave a Comment

Despite being used by many students on their break Guichon Alley has nowhere for students to sit. The first element in the Student Association’s Guichon Alley Student Space project was to install benches and give students somewhere to relax on their break. The metal bench brackets were designed and fabricated by the Metal Fabrication department and students, and then powder coated to ensure their durability. Students from Carpentry installed the bench brackets as part of their course work, this project helped to teach them about installing into concrete. Students in another Carpentry class added the tops to the benches.
