3 Songs Canucks Could Use As A Goal Song

It feels like the Canucks are constantly in an identity crisis. And the same thing could be said for their goal song. The Canucks have had many different goal songs over the years and they have all been kind of meh. Their current goal song which is Don’t You (Forget About Me) by Simple Minds is okay but it’s not the best choice. I feel like they need a song that will get the crowd more hyped for the fact that they just scored a goal. You want to be excited when they score and the goal song plays a huge part in that. Vancouver doesn’t mess around with their music so the Canucks goal song shouldn’t either. So here are three songs I think would be great as goals songs for the Canucks.

My first suggestion is Kickstart My Heart by Mötley Crüe. This song has a very upbeat chorus that I think would get the crowd going. The part in the chorus where they say “Woah!” “yeah” would be such a fun thing for the fans to chant when they score a goal and it’s the kind of song that fills you with adrenaline. This song is a fun option that some junior teams have used and it has gone well for them, so maybe it could be a good song for the Canucks too.

The second song may seem like a strange one, but it works quite well in context. That song is I Predict A Riot by Kaiser Chiefs. Yes, I know the irony of having a goal song called “I Predict A Riot” when it comes to the Vancouver Canucks, but I feel like maybe they should just embrace the riot thing because it’s not going away. This was suggested by Samantha Chang on Canucks Twitter and the song works well and could be a fun song to listen to when they score a goal. It’s catchy and is upbeat enough for it to work well as their goal song. It may be a controversial one, but check out the tweet below and tell me that it doesn’t work well because you know it does. Hopefully, it doesn’t encourage more riots though.

The last one strays away from rock a bit and that one is Ante Up by Funkmaster Flex and M.O.P. This song is hype! It’s a song that would get the crowd excited for a goal and cheering “ANTE UP” every time they score could be so fun. It’s a bit of a different choice but I think it could work really well.

Overall, I think Vancouver could do way better with their goal song because Vancouver is a fun city and we deserve to hear some fun music when they score.

You and I both know they need a better goal song and I know you would love going to Canucks games if you heard one of these songs as the goal song.
