The psychedelic smoke voice of a German niche band – Milky Chance

The name of the band I want to recommend today is Milky Chance. The band has four members, lead singer and guitarist Clemens Rehbein, bassist Philipp Dausch, guitarist Antonio Greger, and drummer Sebastian Schmidt.

I know that this band started with the song Flashed Junk Mind. At that time, I clicked on a playlist that I had in my collection. When I played this song, I was immediately attracted by the voice of the lead singer. The voice of the lead singer was very Psychedelic and somewhat cold smokey voice, I don’t have any particular preference for the singer’s voice, and I rarely listen to the smokey voice, but the voice of the lead singer immediately caught my attention, and I have to say that his voice is very Charming, because of him I went to listen to the rest of the band and found this treasure band.

The style of this band is rather decadent. Their music always reveals a feeling of life being short and lively, but the rhythm is strong, the melody is simple and repetitive, and the lead singer’s psychedelic smoke always makes people immersed in it.

I love their song Heartless, it’s a very sad song, with a simple repeating melody, accompanied by the lead singer’s deliberately low and long smokey voice, like a voice coming from a distant valley. There is a short simple melody in the middle that keeps repeating until it seems to have no end, which is extremely heartbreaking. The lyrics also have only two repetitions of Remember that someday the heartless will go/Those people know the way. Repeated melody, repeated lyrics, as if telling an unwilling story. After the lead singer’s voice came to an abrupt end, and after a period of emptiness, the heartbreaking melody sounded again. The melody is especially sad when listening to it late at night, as if being hit by cold water in the cold rain.
