The Struts

The Struts first started a musical collaboration with vocalist Luke Spiller and guitarist Adam Slack in 2009, and in 2012, they formed a four-member band after bassist Jed Elliott and drummer Gethin Davies joined. Luke Spiller, who leads the band, has been exposed to gospel music since childhood. He was inspired by the music of Michael Jackson at the age of 7. He was also immersed in the music of legendary bands such as Queen, The Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Def Leppard, The Smiths, Oasis, The Libertines, The Strokes, etc. Cultivate a diverse and retro rock heritage.

In 2014, The Struts released their first album “Everybody Wants”, which immediately broke into the UK Singles Chart Top 100 (UK Chart), a perfect start to their music career. The image of them wearing gorgeous costumes during their performances is deeply rooted in the hearts of the people, and subsequent tours have been enthusiastically supported, and they have been invited to act as the opening for Foo Fighters, The Rolling Stones, Guns N’ Roses and other big groups. In 2018, The Struts handed over their second album “Young & Dangerous”, showing their accumulated skills in communicating with the band’s predecessors, making them stand out among the new generation of music.

The British band The Struts with glam rock features has been highly appreciated since its debut, and has been invited by various groups to serve as concert guests. Last year, they released a new single Low Key In Love, and found Michael Jackson’s daughter Paris Jackson to cooperate, and the sweet duet also brought a retro romantic atmosphere to the song.

“Paris brings a whole new face to the song and brings the story to life, she’s both beautiful and talented!” Luke Spiller revealed that “Low Key In Love” was written after a date at the retro ’70s bar Good Times at Davey Wayne’s , incorporating the song into the feeling of walking into a bar to absorb the atmosphere; and when he decided that the song would be duet for two, Luke Spiller remembered Paris Jackson’s excellent performance in the bar that night, so he invited him to cooperate.

I love their Young & Dangerous album. The charming opening song “Body Talks” is a prelude to a small test of water temperature. The rich retro rhythm and passionate melody seem to mix the temperament of The Rolling Stones and The Strokes (the album also includes a version with the American pop queen Kesha at the end); The surging “Primadonna Like Me” followed; “In Love With A Camera”, a tribute to idol Freddie Mercury’s steady treble; I Do It So Well” also illustrates the orchestra’s rich extensibility in arrangement.
