“Education Is Not the Learning of Facts, But the Training of the Mind To Think” (Albert Einstein)
Goal: to have a multi-disciplinary group of students that are passionate and committed to learn about sustainability and the built environment, and willing to engage in meaningful applied research projects. The qualities of an ideal student: 1) curiosity, 2) creativity, 3) motivation, 4) critical thinking, and 5) resourcefulness. Motivation is the driver… I am looking for students for the following projects:
- Data-driven building environmental controls optimization using machine learning “Human in the loop: integrating humans in the building environmental control loop”
- Coupled multi-zone thermal airflow modeling for performance-based ventilation system design
- Buildings and green infrastructure “Thermal and water balances and control of smart roof systems”
