Climate Adaptive Buildings

Goal – The goal of this project is to support the design of buildings that are more attuned with the local climate through a combination of climate adaptive design features and technologies, and operational enablers for occupants’ thermal adaptation.

Research Projects:

  1. Assessment of thermal comfort – applications, tools, and methods
  2. IEA-EBC Annex 69: Strategy and Practice of Adaptive Thermal Comfort in Low Energy Buildings
  3. Study of natural ventilation in a net-zero energy house
  4. Adaptive thermal comfort in mild and tropical hot-humid climates
  5. Thermal comfort in transitional, urban spaces
