This is the story of an orphan named Alexander Hamilton who experiences a hard early life and move to the island of Nevis to study at King’s College in New York where he meets meets Aaron Burr, John Laurens, the Marquis de Lafayette, and Hercules Mulliga. Hamilton accepts a position during the New York and New Jersey campaign as Geroge Washington’s aide-de-camp for field command. The musical closes with a reflection on historical memory.

I don’t want to add more about what’s Hamilton story about so you don’t get spoilers and you can enjoy the show.

This is an American Musical that is sung and rapped and it’s by Lin Manuel Miranda.

“I was inspired to write the musical after reading the 2004 biography Alexander Hamilton by Ron Chernow.” – Lin Manuel Miranda

This show premiered on January 20th 2015 in “The Public Theatre” in New York City (Off- Broadway) and after few months (August 6th 2015) moved to the “Richard Rodgers Theatre” on Broadway where it got high box office sales. The first tour of Hamilton began in March 2017.

Alexander Hamilton has been played by Lin Manuel Miranda in the Vassar Workshop (2013), Off Broadway (2015), Broadway (2015) and in the third tour in the USA.

Miranda casts very diverse actors to this show, could be black, latino or asian who are portraying old white figures and he said that this looks like America looks now and it’s 100% intentional, which is for sure amazing.

So you should check this amazing musical since it has very good reviews and many awards and for sure you’ll have a great time!

Mexican food in Vancouver and a fun fact about burritos!

Image

Have you ever wonder here to eat authentic Mexican food in Vancouver?

Mexican food is known as one of the best kinds of food in the world, but not all the places of course are authentic, specially if you’re not in Mexico.

But first let’s talk about Burritos! Is that real Mexican food? The answer is not really, burritos as are known today are more of a Mexican- American dish, they were invented in Northern Mexico but the recipe has been changing over the time in the USA, so the burritos that we know nowadays are more Mexican- American than Mexican.

If you go to the North of Mexico you will be able to find some burritos, but as farther in the south you go in the country, the harder to find it, actually you will only find it in restaurants that are made for tourists.

A fun fact about burritos: Do you know it means a little donkey?. There’s no really an answer why the burrito are call this way, but there’s some theories that back in time burritos will be transported in the back cart of a donkey that will be pulling it.

Now that you know that burritos are not really Mexican authentic you may be wondering what to try? Well of course tacos is always a good option but with soft tortilla are the authentic ones not with crispy one, also if you like soups “Sopa de Tortilla” and “Pozole” are very delicious and a bit spicy Mexican soups, if you like something crispy you gotta try “Tostadas” with is a crispy flat tortilla with some meat, beans, cream, lettuce and cheese and if you want something soft that is not tacos then “Enchiladas” are amazing, is tortilla filled with usually meat but can be veggies too and with lots of sauce that can be spicy or not on top of it. And always Mexican rice and beans are something to have as a side of your meals!

If you want to try Mexican drinks (non-alcoholic) there’s a very famous pop names “Jarritos” but the rice water “Horchata” and “Jamaica” water are very delicious too!

So where to find this food in Vancouver? My to go options will be: “The Mexican, Antojitos y Cantina” in Granville St., “Patron, tacos & Cantina” in Robson St., “Ophelia” in Olympic Village, “Salsa & Agave Mexican Grill” in Pacific Blvd. and “La Casita” in Gastown.

There’s so many delicious Mexican restaurants around metro Vancouver, but this ones for sure will give you very delicious food and a nice experience.

Jack Sparrow could return

Jhonny Depp could go back for pirates of the Caribbean

The actor Johnny Depp have played the role of Captain Jack Sparrow at the 5 Disney’s movies Pirates of the Caribbean.

It was in 2018 that Disney decided that the actor wouldn’t be able to return to the franchise since it was thought he had abused his ex-wife Amber Heard.

On April 11 this year the trial for Johnny Depp and Amber Heard Started, it been over a month already that this trial started to take place in Fairfax County, Virginia. In this trial Heard is trying to prove she was abused while Depp is trying to prove that Heard has been doing defamation about him.

Amber Heard and the actor of Pirates of the Caribbean started a relationship in 2012 and got married in 2015, it was at 2017 that they got divorced after Heard started the defamation about Depp when they were living in Australia while the actor was filming the fifth movie of Pirates of the Caribbean.

In this trial everything seems like Depp is right and the judges are acknowledging it so after this yesterday the producer of Pirates of the Caribbean Jerry Bruckheimer spoke and said that for the 6th move Depp won’t be there but “the future is yer to be decided”

“Not at this point, but the future is yet to be decided.” -Jerry Bruckheimer

So this means that the producer is open again in having the actor back to the movies, which of course is great news for the Pirates of the Caribbean and Depp’s fans.

Let’s wait and see what happens in the future of this franchise and hopefully it’s all the best for it and Johnny Depp as well.

New Disney’s Pixar movie “Elemental” to come on Summer 2023

Disney’s Pixar just announce their new movie coming up on June 2023.

http://unsplash.com/photos/bqp5dbkJP7g

The new Pixar movie will be call Elemental and will be the 27th Pixar feature film.

The film Elemental if about the four elements, fire, water, land and air living along each other. I will be directed by Peter Sohn, the director of Pixar’s “The Good Dinosaur” and produced by Denise Ream, producer of Pixar’s “Cars 2”

“My parents emigrated from Korea in the early 1970s and built a bustling grocery store in the Bronx,We were among many families who ventured to a new land with hopes and dreams—all of us mixing into one big salad bowl of cultures, languages and beautiful little neighborhoods. That’s what led me to Elemental.”  -Peter Sohn

We don’t have many details about this movie yet, but I think is an amazing idea, it reminds me a little bit to Pixar’s “Inside out” where the emotions come to life but now something about the four elements.

Pixar is an American computer animation studios that was found in 1986 in California and it’s a subsidiary of Walt Disney Studios since 2006 and now it’s own by The Walt Disney Company, some of the most known movies of this animation studios are: Toy Story, Finding Nemo and Monsters Inc. and their more recent film is Turning Red which story is about an Asian teenager growing up in Toronto.

Also Pixar has earned 23 Academy Awards, 10 Golden Globe Awards and 11 Grammy Awards, plus many other awards.

This studio is very successful in the stories they create and also in the animation, so I’m sure they won’t disappoint us with their new movie, let’s get ready for summer 2023 and get new magic of Pixar studios with the new movie “Elemental”
