Hats Off day in Burnaby Heights is coming

Hats Off day is back in Burnaby!

The first Saturday of June every year “The Heights” in Burnaby close a part of Hastings and have a very fun celebration named “Hats Off Day”, the name comes since the local businesses take “the hats off” for the community.

After 2 years of pandemic this event will be back in June 4th and it’s totally free! Unfortunately the parade won’t be back this year, but it’s expected to come back in summer 2023.

Hats Off day has fun for all ages, so all the family is welcome to join to the fun, there is street performers, music, kids activities and many food option from the restaurants in the neighbourhood. 

This festival has by the Heights Merchants Association BIA which is a non-profit organization and is planned and managed by its members and also community groups and volunteers.

The event take place from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and it will be all down to Hastings st. From Gamma Avenue to Boundary Road. So also if you’re planning to drive that day have in mind that this part of Hasting will be shut down in that times.

In the event itinerary you can find:

  • Family Fun Dash – 9:30 a.m.
  • Community Zone – 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • The Street Party – 11:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Show and Shine Car Show – 11:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Hats Off day has been take place in “The Heights” for 36 years now and since 2005 has been voted as “Best Festival in Burnaby” every single year and has more than 50,000 visitors from all around Vancouver.

So if you want to have some fun and support this community too this event will be something fun to experience with all your family and friends.
