City and Color

Do you know who is Dallas Michael John Albert Green? Today we are introducing you to a musician, songwriter and record producer born in Ontario, Canada. He is also known for his contributions as a vocalist, rhythm guitarist and songwriter for the post-hardcore band Alexisonfire. In 2005, he released his first full-length album, Sometimes, which was certified platinum in 2006. City and Color began performing in small, intimate venues between Alexisonfire tours. The name City and Color comes from his own name: Dallas, a city, Green, a color. The reason he named it was because he was uneasy with released albums under the name Dallas Green.

Singer-songwriter Dallas Green’s moniker “Cities and Colors” is undoubtedly one of the biggest trending stories to emerge in Canada. Winner of 3 JUNO Awards – including two Songwriting of the Year (2009, 2012), 3 double platinum and 1 platinum studio album sold in Canada, Green’s latest and fifth studio album If I Should Go Before You Debut #1 On the Soundscan 200, City and Colour topped the Canadian charts for the third time in a row. The LP also made an international splash, reaching No. 16 on the US Billboard 200 and No. 5 in Australia, Green’s LP Little Hell went to Gold. In 2014, Green teamed up with international superstar Alecia Moore (aka P!nk) on a new project called You+Me. The duo’s acclaimed platinum-certified debut, Rose ave. , debuted at No. 4 on the US 200, No. 1 in Canada, and No. 2 in Australia, culminating in memorable performances on The Ellen Show and Jimmy Kimmel Live.
