Barista style drink ideas for this freezing weather we are having

It is absolutely freezing outside and will be for the next couple of days, in fact, yesterday it was below freezing everywhere in Canada (yes even in our normally warm but rainy climate of Vancouver).

The perfect way to stay warm on a cold day is to curl up with a great mug of *insert your perfect drink of choice*.

things I looked forward to was trying different coffee drink recipes, I learned how to make flavoured simple syrups and would look up tutorials for certain lattes.

While you don’t have to get as fancy as me there are fantastic recipes out there with ingredients you probably have in your pantry and can be customizable to your tastes and preferences. Whether you get adventurous tastebuds or if you have certain dietary restrictions and prefer plant based milks, the options are endless. They are also delicious and healthier alternatives for the drinks you get at Starbucks.

So while this cold spurt goes on into the next week, there are enough drink recipes out there to warm our hearts and hands for the time being.

So here are some ideas on drinks to try this upcoming week and links to recipes (bless Pinterest for all our coffee needs)

Golden Milk Turmeric Latte: If you for some reason have turmeric lying around your kitchen you should try this. It tastes better than it sounds (when I have tried it, it tastes like a cookie) and actually really healthy for you as turmeric is a natural anti-inflammatory. Add a shot of espresso to get your caffeine kick, here is a great recipe here.

Peppermint Mocha: Missing the peppermint mocha frenzy that Starbucks brings every Christmas? Try this recipe at home, click here

London Fog: Or more easily explained, an Earl Grey latte and a delicious treat that you can spice up by adding lavender or vanilla too, but if that’s not in your kitchen, it tastes wonderful without. Here’s an easy recipe here.
