Is life passing by?

I just want to relax sincerely, someone who is sleepy.

For those who are about to spend their second birthday during the pandemic, first happy birthday and second, you’ll be okay.

I could be the only one or maybe you feel this way too, but I feel like, life is just passing by. Now yeah this could just be an age crisis or mental issues but let’s ignore all of that for a second. When I’ve been out driving to run an arrand or go to work, I feel as though I am missing out on something.

There is a different type of peace that comes with walking to where you need to go and you can enjoy your surroundings, even if that means some drunk guy yelling at you on commercial drive. Of course, I am grateful I have the accessibility to a car where others don’t that isn’t what I am getting at, so let me get to the point.

Why are we all in a rush?

When you wake up in the morning and have to force yourself out of bed even though your body is so tired, why is that normal? No honestly, why must 50% of our lives be spent working in order to pay basic living needs. The boomers really had it easy back then a house would cost those guys a sack of hay.

As a student there’s always that burnout you face halfway through your semester or in your first week there’s no shame in that. Even when you’re doing your assignments are you rushing to get them finished so you can enjoy some relaxation? Maybe and that’s totally fine because we’re humans and we all get tired.

During all the time you have to spare are you trying to enjoy it as fast as you can?

And now you can’t even go on a vacation at all, no Hawaii, no Disney and no Mexico spring break.

I used to go visit my dad’s side of the family every 2-3 years and it would be 2 weeks of no cell service just existing with no worries. That was honestly a huge privilege that I would just go there and disconnect from life and the way that taking that trip would refresh me yearly? It’s like I’m a computer with outdated software.

So if you feel like things are going too fast or your stuck in the 4 walls of your room, at least you aren’t alone.
