Every year a large number of locals and tourists go there for fun and entertainment. During the hottest hours, people can not even find a place to park. Granville Island provides amenities such as a large public market, an extensive marina, a hotel, Arts Umbrella, False Creek Community Centre, various performing arts theatres including Vancouver’s only professional arts theatres company Theatre Company and Carousel Theatre, fine arts galleries, and a variety of shopping areas. The Granville Island Public Market features a farmer’s market, day vendors, and artists offering local Vancouver goods. Granville Island is the central location of several annual festivals, including the Vancouver International Children’s Festival, the Vancouver Fringe Festival and the Vancouver Writers Fest. There always have many different kinds of events throughout the whole year on Granville Island. However, because of this special situation this year, all events have been cancelled or postponed. Here is the exciting part, the Vancouver Fringe Festival 2020 is finally back. The Vancouver Finge Festival is an annual alternative theatre festival established in 1985. The Festival will include live performances from local artists and some of the performances will be online only. For the October event, which is October 1 to October 10, it has events like “One Man Pride and Prejudice”, “Rob Teszka: Magic Dropout”, “CounterFactual” and “Study Abroad-the Musical”.

The purpose of the Vancouver Fringe Festival is to create an open and vibrant independent theatre community. The Vancouver Fringe is a celebration of all kinds of theatre. The Fringe revels in its identity as part theatre and part party. The Fringe shows feature some of Vancouver’s best venues. Although this period of the event is almost the end. People still can be looking forward to the event that begin from October 29 to November 8. The admission fee starts at $15 and the Fringe membership fee which starts at $7.
