Apple – Web Engineer and iOS/macOS Engineer Job Postings

We have multiple openings for software engineers to join the iWork engineering team to either develop for Apple platforms (iOS/Mac), or web engineers (front end or full-stack) to assist with iWork on iCloud.

We’re hiring across three locations: Vancouver, BC, and in the US in Pittsburgh, PA, and Vancouver, WA.

We’re open to any level of experience, but candidates must have solid computer science fundamentals and be willing to learn iOS development.

Microsoft Innovation Workshops

Microsoft Garage (i.e., their ‘hackspace’) is offering three workshops focused on innovation. The three workshops are planned for April, July, and September. BCIT students/alumni are invited to attend one, two, or all three workshops–doing so will earn them an invitation to Microsoft’s hackathon later in September. Students/alumni can earn a microcredential from Microsoft for their resume/LinkedIn, plus network and collaborate with students from other post-secondaries. Registration Link

The Challenge has 3 Categories:

  • Entrepreneurship (Innovative ideas, entrepreneurship, and commercial products)
  • Applied Research (Innovative project solving a real world problem)
  • Sustainability (Innovative idea or project contributing to sustainability)

Cash prizes in each category are:

    • 1st Prize – $5,000
    • 2nd Prize – $1,500
    • 3rd Prize – $500

Position: Instructor, App Dev – Summer 2022

SFU is hiring students to run Coding Camps over the summer. This may be a good position for level 1 and 2 students as the instructors are not required to be versed in a specific coding language as they will be using the drag and drop platform Thunkable.

Be a Tutor – Now Hiring For September 2022

The Learning Commons team are happy to inform you that their recruitment campaign is now underway for Peer Tutors for the Fall term.  Peer tutors are high-achieving, upper-level BCIT students. They help other students understand course concepts and develop learning skills in difficult academic subjects.  Writing tutors work one-on-one with students to help them develop the capacity to plan, organize, write and revise various types of assignments and assist in areas such as correct and concise language and citations.

BCIT Presentation Idol

Registration is now open for Presentation Idol! https://www.bcit.ca/presentation-idol/

This year, the preliminary round will be via video submission. Presentations should be 6-8 minutes long, and the deadline for submitting a video is February 28 OR when we’ve got 24 submissions, whichever is first.

The championship round will be in-person (assuming that’s possible) on Wednesday, March 30.

While Idol is “Lite” this year, the prizes are still great:

  • First place $1000
  • Second place $750
  • Third place $500
  • Sustainability $300
  • Innovation/Original Project $300

UBC Okanagan’s Annual Hackathon – BC Hacks
