Engineering students and faculty support Nepal’s recovery

Since Nepal’s 2015 M7.8 earthquake, significant reconstruction efforts have been undertaken to rebuild the extensive damage done by the earthquake and to increase risk preparedness plans for the future. Civil Engineering faculty member Bishnu Pandey, BCIT Civil Engineering students, and alumni have been supporting the reconstruction in Nepal.

Danielle King and Harrison Dowd traveled to Kathmandu in 2018 to apply their engineering expertise to support Earthquake Safety Solutions (ESS) in Nepal. After spending time in Nepal, the students brought back their work to share with fellow BCIT students and faculty. Read more about Danielle’s 2018 trip experiences here and Harrison’s here.
