Jennifer Figner named Associate Vice President, Implementation and Integration

BCIT is pleased to announce that Jennifer Figner has been appointed Associate Vice President, Implementation and Integration.

Jennifer joined BCIT in 2005 after more than a decade working in the public accounting sector in both financial and human resource management roles. She holds a BCom from the University of British Columbia and is a designated CPA, CA. After teaching in the BCIT School of Business for twelve years, she took on the position of Associate Dean for the Accounting, Finance, Financial Planning and General Insurance and Risk Management programs. In 2015, she was awarded a BCIT Leadership award for her role in the School of Business achievement of ACBSP accreditation.

Currently the Chair of BCIT’s Education Council and a member (ex-officio) of the Board of Governors, Jennifer has a passion for student success and wellbeing and incorporates that into every aspect of her work at BCIT.

In this newly created role, Jennifer will oversee and accelerate crucial academic initiatives and the implementation of the BCIT 2019-21 Education Plan. She will serve as the principal for a renewed Downtown Campus and advocate for our specialty campuses.

“I am thrilled to be taking on this new role at such an exciting time of changes in both industry and education,” says Jennifer. “This is an amazing opportunity to work with BCIT’s leadership, faculty and staff on key strategic educational initiatives to keep us at the leading edge of post-secondary education.”

Jennifer will begin her new role effective January 2, 2019.
