It’s fitness class trial week at BCIT Rec!

BCIT Recreation Services really has it figured out! At the beginning of each semester they run a Trial Week where students are given the opportunity to sign up for any and all fitness classes they would like to try out FREE OF CHARGE. This means you could go to as many fitness classes as you want next week (Sept 17-21) for free. The point of this week, which I think is excellent, is to feel out the classes, see what you like and then decide what you might want to sign up to take for the rest of the semester.

If you are like me, you will sign up for a whole weeks worth of classes to get in as much exercise as you can! The really nice thing about this system is if you are new to a particular type of class like TRX, or spin, you can go to the class, see what the instructor is like, see what the style and pace is like and then make a decision.

If you do end up signing up for a class there are a few options. The first thing you can do is buy a package that gets you that specific class for 10 weeks (one class per week). This will cost you about $50 which is a lot cheaper than most gyms! The other option is to buy a 10 class pass. This is the slightly more expensive option (~$60) but you can use it like a punch pass and go to any class you want to any time of the week. I have done both options in the past and both work well depending on what you want and what kind of schedule you have!

So if you take anything from this post, as a student who loves to exercise and have fun doing it, I highly suggest taking advantage of trail week and get the most out of what BCIT Rec has to offer! Just head to the gym and sign up at the front desk!
