The Toronto Raptors face off against the Detroit Pistons in an afternoon Sunday basketball game. This is due to the fact that the Superbowl will be on today at 3:30 pm (PST), and the NBA does not want to compete with that event, as many more people would likely watch the Superbowl over a regular season NBA game.

The Detroit Pistons hold the 4th worst record in the entire league heading into today’s game. They have a record of 15-42, with the worst record in the NBA being held by the Houston Rockets, who currently have a 13-43 record, meaning the Pistons aren’t too far off.
There’s essentially no way the Pistons make the playoffs or the play-ins, but the same can’t be said about the Raptors. The Raptors currently hold a record of 26-31, and only sit one spot out of the final spot of the play-in rounds. A win tonight would help bring them closer to the 10th-place Chicago Bulls, who are the team to beat for the Raptors if they hope to make it to the play-in rounds.
The Raptors’ leading points-per-game player, Pascal Siakam, is coming off a 35-point night against the Utah Jazz, and the Raptors hope that he brings that same point total (if not more) to the game tomorrow.

Raptors small forward, O.G. Anunoby, is sidelined with a wrist injury, and it’s questionable if he will return to the game tomorrow; it’ll be a game-time decision. Speaking of Anunoby, sources have revealed that the Raptors were offered 3-first round picks from 1 team for him at the trade deadline, but elected not to accept the trade. Would you have accepted this trade if the rumours are true?
Watch the Raptors at 12:00 pm (PST). Once the game is over, the Superbowl will be on soon after if you’re interested in watching a sports marathon tomorrow!
