From Early Songwriting to Musical Stormbringer

Dan Mangan: a name, a musical legend. This musical genius from British Columbia, Canada, began his musical journey with a dream and a passion when he completed his first set of records, All At Once, back in 2003, at the tender age of 20.

All At Once was not only the beginning of Mangan’s musical career, but also a breath of fresh air for the Vancouver area, which was sparked in 2005 when he teamed up with producer Daniel Elms and friend Simon Kelly to record Postcards & Daydreaming. The re-release of this album was a new chapter in his music career.

The album was recognized as being on par with Chad VanGaalen and Bon Iver, and won numerous awards, including “Artist of the Year” at the Verge Music Awards and a nomination for the Polaris Music Prize. The song “Robot” was named “Best Song” by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, earning Mangan even more acclaim and attention.

In 2011, Mangan’s career broke new ground when his album Oh Fortune was nominated for the Juno Award for New Artist of the Year and Alternative Album of the Year, proving once again that he was a major player in the music industry. The success of this album also made him a favorite candidate for the Polaris Music Prize, further cementing his place in the Canadian music industry.

 

However, not content with his past achievements, Dan Mangan’s musical journey continues.In 2015, he released the album Club Meds with his band, highlighting his musical diversity and innovation.
