Have you ever been to a rave in Vancouver? I bet they played some great music and you probably had a really good time. But have you ever been to a themed rave? Well I have, and the one I went to is one that you could experience very soon.

So there is this thing called a Shrek rave which is…exactly what it sounds like. It’s a rave that’s themed around Shrek and most people who attend are dressed up in costumes from the Shrek movies. I went to a Shrek rave back in May and it was quite the experience. The vibes were great and everyone was just so in character with the costumes that they were wearing.

The DJ played a lot of songs from the Shrek movie which were remixed to fix the rave theme. And of course, they played a lot of All-Star by Smash Mouth. There were also a lot of other songs that were played that weren’t Shrek-themed. Just imagine going to a regular rave but instead of seeing people in rave fits, you see them dressed up as Donkey or Fiona or Shrek or any kind of Shrek character.

There’s always these kinds of shows in Vancouver that are pretty weird but they’re definitely worth going to. It’s sometimes nice to just enjoy an event that is super weird but it allows you to really let loose a bit and enjoy some good times with your friends. Especially when it’s something like a Shrek rave where it’s centred around a lot of memes and just some absolutely weird stuff, but that’s what makes it so fun.

These types of raves are very different from your regular raves or even concerts. The Shrek rave just has a lot more of a relaxed vibe and people are just enjoying themselves. You could argue that it’s pretty similar to a regular rave, but the Shrek theme to it just gives a whole different feel. You just feel like you can be as weird as possible while you’re there. And sometimes you just need to have nights like that to keep yourself sane.

There’s usually these types of raves about once or twice a year and there is one on the 25th of November so you should definitely attend it if you can.

Trust me when I tell you this, it is such a weird experience, but you will love the music and the vibes when you go there. Come on you gotta be a little weird sometimes!
