Vancouver has so many talented music artists who are making some incredibly unique pieces of art. It is impossible for you to not find something you love in the Vancouver music scene.
And someone who is taking the Vancouver music scene by storm is TJ Note. If you haven’t heard of TJ Note, then you are surely going to love her and her music. TJ Note is a singer/songwriter who has been creating music for over 20 years. She makes music that centers around healing and bettering yourself and you just feel good about yourself when you listen to her music.
A few weeks ago, I interviewed TJ and talked to her about her music journey and the struggles that also come with it. TJ has worked with some incredible people such as Doug Johnson, Murray Yates, Mark Whitfield and many others. She has many songs about conquering tough times and how she got through them.
One of my favourite songs by her is a song called BROKEN which is co-written by Murray Yates. This song revolves around bettering yourself for someone. The songwriting on this song is spectacular and TJ’s voice will captivate you with her angelic vocals. The song is more of a sadder one, but the way everything is put together for this song is so well crafted and it’s definitely one you need to check out.
TJ mentioned that for BROKEN, Joey Moi, who is a Canadian producer, advised her to make some revisions by changing the chorus. The song originally was written by Murray Yates, but TJ rewrote the chorus, and then it became BROKEN from “Suddenly Broken”.
Two more songs by TJ Note you need to check out are her more well-known songs which are LOvE and PAiN. LOvE is an upbeat song about giving love and how everyone needs some love. This song gets you in such a good and uplifting mood and just makes you want to spread some love.
PAiN on the other hand is a song about moving on from hard times. This song is also more uplifting and the production on this song is spectacular. The instrumentation is very well done and you can really feel the emotion in TJ’s voice about how she wants to move forward.
TJ Note is definitely a local artist you need to check out and I guarantee you will enjoy her music. Her music just makes you feel good and she has a great future ahead of her and I can’t wait to see where she goes from here.
