Imagine writing songs with your best friend in your university dorm room, and years later you get to perform those songs as headliners at multiple music festivals. It sounds like a dream, right? Well, it’s a dream come true for Tega Ovie and Georges Nasrallah. The duo formed Post Modern Connection while they were still students, and now, they are ready to take on the world with their brand new EP that will be released this month. 

Tega Ovie and Georges Nasrallah stumbled into each other when they were both studying at UBC-Okanagan. And at that moment, they just clicked. The two musicians began their collaboration by performing at the school’s open mic events. And the rest is history. They formed Post Modern Connection, and they released their first single, “Lost in Talk” in 2018. From there, they dropped their first EP, “Clustered Umbrella” in October 2021. The duo draw their inspirations from a wide range of genres, and it is reflected in their sound. We can hear Afrobeat rhythm, jazzy chords, bossanova influence, and trippy synth, all wrapped up nicely with a bow of indie rock. As a result, you get rich bangers that will brighten up your day and make you smile.  

Ever since last September, Post Modern Connection has been dropping new singles. It all started with “If You Care”, an up-tempo tune filled with dynamic drumming and energetic jazz guitar. Then it was followed by “Jordy Come Over”, where they collaborated with Zoey Leven and Bridal Party. Next, they released “Turned Out Just Fine”, a fun banger with heavy synth and lively guitar. And just a couple weeks ago, they dropped “Nothing to Growing Old”, which is a song full of reflective thoughts about life. It’s almost like they are leaving breadcrumbs for us to find, leading up to something big. And they came through. The duo announced that they will be releasing their new EP, “A Welcome Change” very soon.

“A Welcome Change” will be available for Post Modern Connection’s fans on November 23, 2023. And to celebrate, they will be having an EP release party on November 24 at the Waldorf Hotel.
