Evolution 107.9 has some phenomenal music! We’ve got bands like Blink 182, the Foo Fighters, Paramore and many other great bands and artists as well. You can even check out the songs that were just playing if you heard something you like.
Listening to Evolution 107.9 is a great way to find some new and unique music from artists you may have never heard of. Because of this, I started to think about songs and artists that would fit well with what we play here at Evolution. So I decided to ask some of my classmates what songs they would recommend people listen to if they love the music on Evolution 107.9.
The first person I asked suggested that you should listen to Thornhill. They are an Australian metal band who are actually playing a show here on Wednesday night. They only have two albums released but they are both amazing. They have a few similarities to a band like Deftones so if you like them you will certainly enjoy Thornhill. It’s definitely a band that I would recommend listening to if you like bands like Foo Fighters and Paramore as well.

I asked another friend and he suggested a band called Anway Gang. This band is an alternative/indie band made up of Canadian band members. A bit of a lesser-known band but a great one to give a try if you’re looking for something unique and interesting. They’re a bit of a newer band so they are definitely an interesting band to check out.
The final suggestion I got from someone was a band called Holding Absence. They are a rock band from Cardiff, Wales. Holding Absence is also relatively newer as they’ve been only releasing music since 2017. They have a unique style of music and definitely a fun one to listen to. I personally haven’t listened to their music yet but that is because I am going to their concert on Wednesday and want to hear them live first before I listen to them fully. It’s an interesting thing my friend suggested and I’m excited to see how it goes. Is this something you would think of trying?
Evolution has some great music and if you love the music that plays on there, then I bet you will love the bands that I just mentioned. And who knows, maybe you’ll hear them on Evolution one day so keep listening because you never know who you might hear!
