The Pourhouse- Live jazz music and more!

Listening to live music evokes a different feeling compared to listening to it any other way. It has a way of touching a nerve and making you feel a certain way. Going to concerts can be expensive or the experience isn’t as fun because of the crowd of people violating your personal space. I find that live music is a lot better to experience when there’s an accommodating atmosphere. One place in Vancouver that has a great atmosphere and ambience to enjoy live music, is the Pourhouse at 162 Water Street. They’ve got live jazz musicians playing there every Thursday and Sunday. The guaranteed bar/lounge seating option is available for just $5 per person and all of the money go to the musicians. Visiting the Pourhouse on one of the nights where they play live music is a great opportunity to show support and appreciation for local artists.

The Pourhouse has a small intimate setting, and the atmosphere of the place makes it a great spot to enjoy a meal, drink or live music with friends. The building is 100 years old but looking at the inside, you probably can’t tell. Although the place has been refurnished, there’s a rich history that can be felt when you enter. Their cocktails have an old-fashioned and their food is made with the intent of comfort. The happy hour menu takes effect every day from 3PM-6PM and its reasonably priced and the options are amazing.

They’re not just known for their live music, food and cocktails, they mean business with their coffee. They serve a beautiful local roast and incredible loose-leaf tea. Some of the items on the regular menu might seem a little expensive but their focus is on quality over quantity. Pourhouse is a place where live jazz music and creatively crafted food and drinks is found.
