Gervonta Davis remains an undefeated boxer, Ryan Garcia next?

On January 7th Gervonta Davis and Hector Luis Garcia put their undefeated streaks on the line to prove who is the better boxer. Both of them were undefeated champions looking to take the other persons 0. In a highly anticipated match to start the year, Gervonta Davis was able to get one more vital win under his resume by successfully defending his WBA World Lightweight Title in impressive fashion and extending his record to 28-0-0. Out of the 28 wins on his record, 26 of them come by KO/TKO, which makes him a frightening force in the weight class.

Hector Luis Garcia was undefeated with a record of 16-0-0 before he face Gervonta Davis. The match was stopped by referee Albert Earl Brown after Garcia didn’t get off his stool before the start of the 10th round and his cornermen called it off. Garcia later mention in the post fight interview that Gervonta had really hurt him in the prior round and he couldn’t really see but in the same breath, he reassured the fans that his vision had returned and that he was okay. He was clearly disappointed in the result of the contest. Gervonta paid respects to Garcia’s skills in his post fight interview by saying that Garcia was a “tough fighter.” Gervonta went on to explain how he tricked Garcia with his hands and eyes to get the better of him on the night.

Gervonta also hinted that his next match would be against the internet sensation Ryan Garcia, who also happens to be undefeated with a record of 23-0-0. The two of them have been throwing jabs at each other on the internet for some time now and fans are really excited about a potential matchup between the two. Gervonta mentioned that they are trying to schedule the bout for April. The boxing world will be buzzing once the bout is officially confirmed.
