While TikTok has had its share of controversies, one thing it’s done an amazing job at is promoting and bringing new artists into the spotlight.

Artists like Tyler Shaw who’s become quite famous thanks to some of his songs blowing up on the platform.

The best part is that he’s from right here in Vancouver and was even nominated for a Juno award.

Shaw didn’t start his music career on TikTok though, having released his first single back in 2012.

While I had heard his song Kiss Goodnight, I never associated it with his name until recently.

But, he didn’t stop at that one song, he continued releasing music and has even had the chance to perform for a member of the royal family.

After that, he went a little quiet but came back after releasing his cover of a popular TikTok song called ABCDEFU.

It’s quite a clever cover flipping the message from one of hate and rejection to acceptance and love.
