The most iconic Cirque du Soleil production to date, Alegría is an all-time classic show that has been reimagined. Alegría takes audiences away to a mystical world with visual poetry and extraordinary acrobatics.
As a once-glorious kingdom that has lost its king, Alegría witnesses the power struggle at play between the old order and a new movement, searching for hope and renewal. With its moving soundtrack, extravagant costume designs and vibrant sets, Alegría touches the soul and lives up to its global reputation of a must-see Cirque du Soleil spectacle.
Fun fact: the Bateau (boat) has parallel bars with catch chairs positioned on opposite sides. Did you know this is the first time these two disciplines have been combined in one single apparatus? #OCirque pic.twitter.com/NyGLNR1msZ

First debuting in 1994, Alegría (‘joy’ in Spanish) has become one of the most beloved Cirque du Soleil shows. It has entertained over 14 million audience members in 255 cities across 40 countries in its 19 years of touring. Its Grammy-nominated soundtrack – featuring the iconic title track “Alegría” – is still the most streamed and purchased Cirque du Soleil album to date.
In 2019, in celebration of its 25th anniversary, Alegría was reenergized by a cast of 53 acrobats, clowns, musicians, and singers.
The revival of Alegría is the 44th original production created by Cirque du Soleil since 1984.
The shows will be held at Under the Big Top at Concord Pacific Place in downtown Vancouver from March 25th – June 5th.
