National Day of Truth and Reconciliation: Only the Beginning

This year the federal government has recognized September 30th as the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation. This day was assigned after 215 unmarked graves were found on former residential schools in Kamloops this summer

“I would like to see our voices finally be heard for us to be recognized and for it not to continue in different forms you have the day-school, foster care, the child welfare system, I want to see all of that be abolished”

Booths were set up around the city to mark the occasion, and as you heard this day is only just the beginning of the long road to reconciliation
