De-stressing From Studying

Hello, it’s Megan!

I’m starting to feel a bit overwhelmed with the last two weeks of school coming to an end. Before I can start doing all the festive things; gingerbread house making, bright lights in Stanley Park, catching up with friends, or just sleeping. Our set has also arranged to have a secret santa on the last day of exams and that is something to look forward to.

Unfortunately the dogs from doggy destress can’t be on campus all the time to keep our stress levels low, but here are some of the ways I deal with stress without them!

  1. Arts & crafts. If you know how to do a craft, you can turn your stress into a creative masterpiece. I started on some knitting projects to turn my stress into a positive thing. When I knit, all of my nerves tend to calm down and I feel relaxed.
  2. Watch one video (only one). I occasionally enjoy watching a 5 minute video to distract me from time to time when I’ve been studying for a long period of time. I have been guilty for watching more than one video and ended up spending my study time as video time. So only watch videos if you have a lot of self control.
  3. Get a plant. This might seem a bit silly but I got a succulent plant at my study desk at home and found that it was something nice to look at. Also it’s nice to know that they purify the air in my room.
  4. Exercise. I can’t stress this enough but exercising helps to clear your head and boost endorphins. I mean it’s also good because it keeps us healthy and we’ll live longer!

Feel free to add to my list if you find anything that helps you de-stress. I wish you all luck on all your finals coming up!

Thanks for following my journey!

Megan
