BCIT named among Canada’s Best Employers 2025 by Forbes

The British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) is proud to once again be named to Forbes’ prestigious list of Canada’s Best Employers 2025. This marks the fifth consecutive year that BCIT has been named among the nation’s top employers, a testament to its unwavering commitment to fostering vibrant and inclusive communities that enhance experiences of connection, wellbeing, and belonging.

The annual ranking, developed by Forbes in partnership with Statista, is based on an independent survey of over 40,000 employees across Canada. Participants, drawn from organizations with more than 500 employees, provided anonymous feedback on various factors, including their willingness to recommend their employer to friends and family, as well as assessments of other employers within their industries.

“Earning this recognition for the fifth year in a row highlights the collective efforts of the BCIT community in bringing our vision to life – empowering people, shaping BC, and inspiring global progress,” said Chris Hudson, Vice President, People, Culture, and Inclusion. “This achievement is a celebration of our people, who are at the core of the Institute’s success in delivering transformative education.”

Fostering vibrant and inclusive communities

As one of BC’s largest post-secondary institutes with more than 2,800 employees across its five campuses, BCIT puts people at the core of its priorities. BCIT recently launched its new Strategic Plan 2025-2030 which emphasized the value of fostering vibrant and inclusive communities – on and off campus – to enhance experiences of connection, wellbeing, and belonging. In today’s interconnected world, this is important in ensuring supportive and thriving environments for all to learn, work, and grow together.

In 2022, BCIT introduced its inaugural People Vision, outlining the Institute’s goals and priorities for supporting its people. This framework plays a key role in fostering employee development, cultivating an inspiring workplace, and recognizing dedication and contributions. In parallel, the BCIT Indigenous Vision and Anti-Racism Framework help ensure that BCIT remains an inclusive and respectful environment, where all members of the community are empowered to make a positive impact.
