On November 16, more than 200 people gathered at the BCIT Burnaby Campus for the 2023 Entrance Awards and Scholarships Celebration. The inspiring event gave these exemplary student recipients the opportunity to not only thank the donors who made their awards possible, but also meet members of the BCIT leadership who were excited to see the next generation of leaders.
“On behalf of the BCIT Foundation, I congratulate our 2023 Entrance Award and Scholarship recipients,” says Jackie Jacob, Executive Director, BCIT Foundation. “These awards recognize the hard work, dedication, and agility required to succeed in the ever-changing professional landscape. Through this acknowledgement, our donors, faculty, and staff encourage students to keep going, to reach further, to dream bigger, and always remember there is a community behind them cheering them on.”
This fall, a total of 308 scholarships amounting to $446,595 and 109 entrance awards worth $372,522 were distributed to well-deserving students. These awards recognize both academic and non-academic achievements.
“Today is a celebration of us” said Sia Foryoh, recipient of The Global News Scholars Entrance Award. “The students who dare to reach for the stars, [and] the generous donors [who] make this all this possible. We are united by our dreams, and together, we will make a lasting impact on the world.”
