Hello everyone!
My name is Melany, I’m a second year enrolled in the Marketing Communications option, and I am also the VP of Advertising and Promotions for the BCIT Marketing Association (commonly referred to as BCITMA). The BCITMA, is a collegiate chapter for the American Marketing Association (AMA) and arguable one of the biggest clubs within the School of Business. The BCITMA provides students the opportunity to build a relationship with second-year students, and also build their professional network within the Marketing industry.
Before BCIT, I was living overseas for four years and I wanted to switch careers. Ultimately, I picked BCIT since they are known for having such hands-on experience, plus the fact that the employment rate for graduates are higher than the other schools that I was considering.
I am really excited for this great opportunity for students like myself to share our experiences, tips and advice to fellow students, or prospective students! I look forward to sharing my experience with the Marketing Management program and all the great networking events that you can get involved in!
