2023 West Coast Security Conference
This year the conference is focused on “Influence and Hybridity: The Evolution of Violence” and will take place November 13th-17th, 2023. The conference will feature three days of online speaker panels and two interactive workshops. It is being hosted online/ hybrid and is accredited by the University of Ottawa’s Professional Development Institute as 12 hours towards their National Security Certificate.
The Strategic Decision-making Tools Workshop on November 16th is focused on contemporary conflict and strategic decision-making. It will feature a speaker panel hosted by leading experts, followed by an introductory presentation on war games and the importance of modeling in contemporary conflict environments. Participants will then have the opportunity to engage with two war game models- see agenda attached for more details.
The Contemporary Intelligence Issues Workshop on November 17th will be our first in-person event since COVID-19 and is dedicated to professional development, intelligence best practice, and accountability within Canada’s national security enterprises. We will be hosting representatives from the National Security and Intelligence Committee of Parliamentarians (NSICOP), the Privy Council Office Community of Practice (PCO), Office of the Intelligence Commissioner (OIC), the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS), and the National Security Intelligence Review Agency (NSIRA) – see agenda attached for more details.
