Have you ever gone through traumas?

I think traumas is one of those things that we don’t like to talk about but probably should. It is heavy, complicated and more personal. Still, it’s something that many of us share in one way or another. I believe traumas always leave a mark or significant memory inside you. It changes how we see ourselves, how we treat other people, and how we get around in the world.  But here is the thing, suffering doesn’t make you who you are today even it is only a small part of your life.

PTSD gets a bad name a lot of the time. When we hear the word, we quickly think of something broken or weak, but why? I see it as proof that you can bounce back. Even when life threw its worst at you but you made it through, right? Even though it doesn’t feel strong, that says something about how strong you are. I always feel that surviving isn’t the same as healing, and that’s where things get tricky for many of us.

It’s not easy to get better after a traumatic experience. Some days, you’ll feel like you’re making progress and the other days, it feels like you’re back to square one. That’s okay, honestly. Give yourself time because healing doesn’t mean you have to forget what happened or act like it didn’t hurt. It means learning to live alongside it, understanding it, and not letting it to control you.

For me, over the years I have found that being open about my own traumatic experience with my family and friends, really helps to get through the situation. It can be scary to share something so personal at first, but the connections, the bonds that you make with others who say, “I get it or I’ve been there too” are invaluable. It helps you remember that you’re not alone and that a lot of people understand or relate with your experience.

One more thing? Therapy works very well. Although it’s not for everyone because telling a stranger your darkest fears can also be scary, but there is a freedom in sharing your story with someone who can really help you, because that’s their job to make you feel better and happy. I know traumas are messy, harsh, and not always fair but what to do traumas will always be a part of us. But take it as a chance to grow, to learn and find the true you! So, what’s your thought about trauma?

Feel free to share your stories about trauma and how you overcame it in the comments section down below!

Why is good sleep important?

I used to think sleep was overrated. As a full-time student juggling classes, assignments and a part-time job, my schedule was packed, and something had to give less concern. That something was having a good sleep. I often stayed up until 2 or 3 a.m., either studying for exam or playing video games, and sometimes watching entire Netflix series in one sitting. I mean why not? After all, coffee could fix everything, right?

Wrong

It wasn’t until one embarrassing day that I truly understood the importance of having a good sleep, especially at night. I had a midterm exam for my Business Communication course in the BCIT Radio Arts and Entertainment program, and it was worth around 30% of my final grade. The night before, I decided to stay up late reviewing all the slides and notes for the exam. I told myself, “Just one more hour” over and over again. By the time I closed my laptop, it was almost 4 a.m., and my alarm was set for 7 a.m.

The next morning, I felt like I was going very slowly. My mind was cloudy and my body was slow. During my midterm, I just looked at the paper and didn’t think about anything. I felt like the questions I should have been able to quickly answer were taking so long to write. I stumbled through the multiple-choice section, second guessing myself on every question. When I got to the written part my hand stayed on the page because I couldn’t think of anything to write. It was embarrassing, to say the least. I could feel the tension in the room as my classmates dashing off every single question like it was butter smooth for them, while I sat there frozen, trying desperately to focus.

That afternoon, I sat in my car, drained and frustrated. The realization hit me that my lack of sleep wasn’t just a bad habit rather it was ruining my health and brain. I started researching the effects of sleep deprivation and learned how vital sleep is for memory, focus, and even emotional well being. It’s more like giving your brain and body enough time to recharge just like your phone Haha.

I decided to change my sleeping schedule even though it was tough for me. I created a bedtime routine and shutting down screen an hour before bed. It was not that easy to change a constant habit but within a week, I noticed the difference. I woke up feeling more refreshed, my concentration during lectures improved, and I felt more capable of handling stress. One month later, I had another big presentation. This time, I nailed it. My thoughts flowed smoothly, my energy was steady, and my confidence was not low. Now, I treat my sleep as non-negotiable. It’s not just about avoiding tired mornings but it’s about setting myself up for the next day.

What about you? Do you prioritize good sleep, or do you think it’s something you can sacrifice? Lemme know in the comment section.

Is Marijuana Good or Bad?

Marijuana has always been a hot topic of debate. Well after doing some research I got to know that some people call it a magic plant that can help with health problems, while others call it a gateway drug that can lead to other problems in society.  For me, the answer isn’t as simple as “good” or “bad” rather it’s complicated and somehow personal, but don’t you worry because I will be giving you more details.

I remembered when for the first time I tried Marijuana, it was in my first year of college in Canada. Back home Marijuana was not legal at any age level. So, one day my class mates invited me to a latenight study session, at first it was very overwhelming for me but that quickly turned out to be something else.  When I entered the room, the room was filled with a strange smell, skunky scent or earthy smell. As soon as they saw me entering the room they invited me to their joint circles, I hesitated as it was a new thing for me but some of them keeping say that “it will make you more focus or relax, and it’s not harmful like other drugs or alcohol”, the curiosity inside me spiked and eventually I ended up taking puffs with them. At that moment, I didn’t think about whether it was good or bad. I was just curious and was between group pressure and the promise of focus and relaxing.

That night I felt weightless which I had never felt before. My worries about exams vanished, and for a few hours, life seemed more manageable. But the next morning, I couldn’t help but wonder, was this really the answer to stress, or was I just avoiding my problems?

Morely, I got to know that Marijuana can use as medication. One of my aunt in the States was diagnosed with chronic arthritis, and the pain was unbearable for her. She hated the side effects of painkillers the nausea and dizziness. That’s when her doctor recommended medical marijuana. At first, I was doubtful to me because the same plant that made me giggle uncontrollably in a dorm room could also ease someone’s suffering? Like Wow.

When I saw her change with her CBD oil, she could sleep at night peacefully without worrying about the after effects of painkillers. And it made me happy because she was able to gardening again, something she loved but had given up because of the pain. It was like she’d been given a second chance at life. Seeing her transformation made me realize that marijuana wasn’t just a recreational drug but we can use it as medication for some case’s.

On the other side, I have seen people with Marijuana going into a darker path. One of my friend started smoking heavily in College year. I think for him it was all fun and harmless but over the time it became his habits. And he started to skip school and hanging out with crack heads. Guess what eventually he was dropped out of school.

I think of marijuana has the power to heal and the potential to harm. So, is marijuana good or bad? Honestly, it’s both. It’s good when used responsibly and with purpose, like chronic pain or managing anxiety under the guidance of a doctor. But it can be bad when it becomes an escape or a habit that disrupts your life.

So what do you guys think? Lemme know in the comment sections.

What a win by Vancouver Canucks, GO Canucks GO!

Have you caught your breath yet after tonight’s heart stopping Game 1 between the Vancouver Canucks and the Edmonton Oilers? The roads of Vancouver are roaring all around, saying Go Canuck Go!

The atmosphere at Rogers Arena was electric as the Canucks and Oilers battled in a thrilling match that had spectators captivated from the beginning to the end. And indeed, at the end Canucks did the job done perfectly as it was promised!

Now, let’s rewind a bit to the beginning of the game. Things didn’t kick off the way the Canucks had hoped for. A penalty less than a minute in had them playing catch-up, and before they could even settle into their rhythm, the Oilers struck first, courtesy of Zach Hyman. But hey, in the game of hockey, it’s not about how you start, it’s about how you finish, am I right?

Skipping ahead to the second period, the Oilers appeared to be in a strong position to win the game, as they had built a dominating 4-1 lead. However, brace yourselves, ladies and gentlemen, as this is where the unexpected turn of events occurs. With just more than 10 minutes remaining in the game, J.T. Miller sparked a sense of hope by skillfully deflecting the puck into the net, reducing the gap and creating an atmosphere for a remarkable comeback. Indeed, that was a remarkable return! Nikita Zadorov swiftly and forcefully fired a powerful shot to even the score, causing the fans to get extremely excited. However, their task was not yet complete. Conor Garland, with remarkable composure, skillfully moved past the opposing defence before executing a powerful shot that successfully scored a goal, securing the victory and concluding an extraordinary comeback.

And how can I not appreciate Arturs Silovs! He between the pipes for the Canucks, stood tall when it mattered most, shutting down the Oilers and giving his team the chance to stage their miraculous comeback.

And you must appreciate our Zadorov. The strong defenseman has displayed exceptional dominance, scoring three goals and collecting five points in a few seven post season games. It’s been 15 long months since the Oilers blew a three goal lead, a fact that surely adds an extra layer of sweetness to this win for the Canucks.

So, grab your jerseys, crank up the volume and say Go Canucks GO! I am sure you will also join me tonight for our Victorious Parade.
