Edwards VS Usman 3!

Leon Edwards and Kamaru Usman are set to face off for the third time on March 18th. The winner will leave the undisputed welterweight champion.

When these two first met in the UFC no one had any idea how big each of them would become as individuals.

Kamaru beat Edwards by unanimous decision in the first fight and the two went their seperate ways for 7 years. In that time both men accomplished great things. Usman claimed UFC gold, while Edwards went on a 10 fight win streak.

Edwards win streak was enough to earn him another shot at now champion Kamaru Usman.

The build up to the fight was intense with both men truly believing they would come out on top.

After 4 rounds, it seemed like Usman was going to beat Edwards once again, and keep his title. With just one minute left in the fight though, Leon Edwards knocked Usman out cold with a head kick and won UFC gold.

The only right decision for these men was a 3rd, and final fight for the championship.

Usman is clearly the better wrestler and jiu jitsu practitioner, while Edwards has the striking advantage. It’ll be interesting to see who wins this fight.

Coquitlam Express win annual Mom’s Trip game!

The Coquitlam Express made the journey out to Chilliwack this weekend to face off against the Chiefs.

The Express came into this game ranked third in the Coastal Conference, and the Chiefs came in ranked fourth. This game was set to be an important one for both teams.

It was also expected to be tight game. Last time the two faced off the Chiefs won 3-2 in a dominant showing that saw the Express struggle to get off any real offence.

The story was different tonight though.

The game was as expected. Back and forth goals kicked off the first period, and the Chiefs took the lead in the second. The Express battled back though and won the game in shootout!

Maybe it was the moms coming out and showing support for the night that gave the Express the extra push to help them win the game.

The moms certainly seemed to enjoy the win for their boys and overall it was a feel good night for the Express team.

Coquitlam faces Alberni Valley at home on February 3rd.

Will The Bengals Ever Win A Super Bowl?

The Bengals have lost when it counted most the past 2 years in a row.

Last year the Bengals made it to the Super Bowl for the first time in 33 years after a terrific run during the regular season. Sadly they were unable to get the job done and win the biggest game of the year, but fans gave them a excuse as the team is still young.

It was Joe Burrows first full season in the NFL healthy, Tee Higgins was just starting to hit his stride, and Ja’Marr Chase had just gotten used to playing with the pair for a full season.

However, this year the Bengals failed to make it to the Super Bowl, which is worse then last season. They lost to The Chiefs in what I would argue was the Super Bowl finals game.

The Chiefs on paper will destroy the Eagles, and go on to win the Super Bowl. The Bengals would in theory also destroy the Eagles.

That means two years in a row the Bengals have failed to close in the game that matters most.

Why can’t this team seem to get the job done?

The pressure could be a factor.

This team has all the tools to get the job done, but they aren’t used to playing in the big games yet.

If this team can keep their skills up, and continue to develop over the next few years, they’ll continue to make it far in the season and learn to deal with the pressure that comes with being champions.

This team will win a Super Bowl one day. All they need is some time.

Jake Paul VS Tommy Fury

The fight that everybody’s been waiting for is finally set to happen.

Jake Paul VS Tommy Fury has been in the works for quite some time now, with the event being cancelled three times.

Tommy Fury seemed to be the main problem as to why this fight never seemed to get off the ground, as he used having a baby, money, and immigration issues all as reasons to postpone his scheduled fights against Jake Paul.

Now the fight has been confirmed once again though, and Tommy Fury assures that he won’t be dropping out of this one.

Theirs a lot of high stakes going into this match. Both men are undefeated professional boxers, with illustrious family names, and tons of pressure on them. Pound for pound #1 fighter in the world Tyson Fury (Tommy Fury’s older brother) even said that if Tommy loses, he has to give up the family name.

No one’s going to want to lose this one which should lead to a very intriguing back and forth match.

Who Will Win The Super Bowl?

The Super Bowl final two is decided!

The Chiefs defeated the Bengals 23-20 and the Eagles defeated the 49ers 31-7 earlier tonight.

These two teams will now face off in the Super Bowl on February 12th to decide who will be the 2023 champions.

Who will win the battle between these two teams?

My bet is the Chiefs.

The AFC division was significantly tougher this year, with the Bengals, Buffalo, and Chiefs all having a shot to make it to the finals. The Eagles seemed to have a clear cut path, with no real competition. Even with no significant competition the Eagles showed signs of struggle in some games.

To add to that, Patrick Mahomes looked unstoppable tonight as well against the Bengals. Many counted him out multiple times, and the Joe Burrow hype overshadowed Mahomes accomplishments and abilities, but at the end of the day he showed why he’s one of the best Quarterbacks in the league.

That’s exactly why I’m picking the Chiefs to win the Super Bowl this year.

5K Foam Fest Is Coming To B.C!

5K Foam Fest is coming to B.C.

The 5K Foam Fest is a touring race, that goes all the way from Canada to Australia!

The Foam Fest has 22 challenging and exciting obstacles to keep you occupied throughout the day.

This includes the worlds largest inflatable waterslide, slip and slides, and mucky mud pits. On top of those obstacles, the event pumps out 2.5 million cubic feet of foam at each event!

The best part is that you don’t even have to run the 5K! You can walk, jog, or run if you feel inclined.

Now the 5K Foam Fest is touring across Canada, and making 3 stops in B.C!

First they’ll be going to Nanaimo on June 3rd, then they’ll be going to Sun Peaks June 10th, then concluding their time in B.C with Surrey on June 17th.

So far over 250,000 Canadians have signed up, and registrations continue to climb. Registrations are limited though, and all the events are past 70% capacity.

This will be an awesome event so don’t miss the opportunity to participate!

Ryan Reynolds Owns A Football Team!

Vancouver born actor Ryan Reynolds has found great success in his career on and off screen.

Ryans latest accomplishment though has been owning a football team. Reynolds bought in to the Wrexham team very recently and the team has skyrocketed to new heights since.

While the team may be ranked very low, they’ve been able to pull off quite a few upsets these past few weeks. The team was able to upset Coventry earlier this week in the tournament, which was a shock as most of the teams left in this tournament are from the Premier League or the second-tier EFL Championship. Wrexham is currently fighting for promotion out of the fifth-tier National League.

Wrexham were on the brink of another upset today as the team was able to score, and take the lead against Sheffield United.

Ryan and the fans went crazy and everyone had hopes that the team would be able to get the job done. However, Sheffield was able to tie the game, and a rematch will be scheduled sometime in the coming weeks.

Even with this disappointing ending Reynolds took to instagram to share how happy he was, and how he has been amazed by his teams accomplishments as of late.

Wrexham will hope to continue on this amazing run under the guidance of owner Ryan Reynolds. Lets hope they can get the job done!

The Alanamal Returns!

Alana Cook will make her long awaited return to mixed martial arts March 30th, at BFL 76.

Alana is a 2-0 professional fighter out of Ascension Martial Arts in Port Coquitlam. She’s ranked #1 in Vancouvers biggest MMA promotion BFL, and #8 in the Canadian women pound for pound rankings.

Alana had a promising start to her MMA career winning her first fight by way of submission in January of 2022. She then went on to win her second fight by decision in April of 2022.

After her fight in April though Alana had to take some time off to undergo neck surgery. It was hard for her to take the time away from the octagon:

“Having to take such a long time off fighting really taught me how to be tough mentally. Everyone thinks fighting is physical, but it also takes an incredible amount of mental, emotional, and even spiritual strength.”

Now that Alana is healed up she will be making her return to the Octagon March 30th, and is feeling better then ever:

“I feel like Im coming back as a more complete warrior because every part of me is more than ready for battle.”

Jamie Siraj Is Set To Make His MMA Return

Jamie Siraj is finally making his long awaited comeback to MMA after years on the sidelines.

Jamie was one of Vancouvers most promising MMA fighters as he came up through the ranks, but sadly his career was derailed after being diagnosed with a life threatening condition.

After years of hospital visits and tons of treatments Jamie is finally healthy enough to be making his return to the octagon.

His next bout will be March 30th against Ryan Rohovich, a 5-5 professional fighter.

While Rohovich’s record may imply hes a 50-50 fighter, you cant let the record fool you. Ryan’s a good fighter with legitimate stand up and grappling abilities.  He holds multiple finishes including a triangle submission over Vancouvers favourite fighter Josh Kwiatkowski. Ryan’s fighting ability is worrisome in enough itself for Jamie, but Jamie will also have to account for nearly 4 years of ring rust.

However, if anyone can overcome this challenge its Jamie. Jamie is comfortable no matter where the fight goes, and will be preparing this camp for what Rohovich has to offer.
