Logan Paul Attacks Seth Rollins In Montreal!

Logan Paul made his return to the WWE last night at the Elimination Chamber event last night live in Montreal.

Logan Paul is a rising star in the WWE and fans are delighted whenever Logan shows up to do a match. He’s a very talented wrestler and puts on a show every time he steps into the ring. Sadly that hasn’t been very often as Logan has only had four matches in the organization so far.

Logan’s last appearance took place in the Royal Rumble where he entered at number twenty nine. Logan had some entertaining moments in the rumble including a high flying maneuver with Ricochet, a funny moment of pointing to the Wrestlemania sign, and a moment where he eliminated Seth Rollins.

Seth Rollins was fuming about being eliminated by Paul but moved on from this moment during the past month while he focused on his Elimination Chamber match. Logan however did not move on from this.

Last night at the Elimination Chamber event live in Montreal Logan Paul made his return and attacked Seth Rollins. This moment cost Rollins the championship win.

Clearly this feud is leading to a huge Wrestlemania match between the two men.

Rollins and Paul are without a doubt two of the most talented wrestlers in the company right now so this match will be insanely good. Lets hope this is the direction the WWE takes the two.

Is Kenny Omega Going To WWE?

Kenny Omega is widely regarded as one of the best professional wrestlers in the entire world. This is a rare title to be given out to someone who has never fought for the biggest wrestling promotion, World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).

Kenny Omega is a Canadian born professional wrestler who has been on the scene for nearly twenty three years.

In all his time wrestling though the closest Kenny ever got to the WWE was through the companies training centre. Kenny spent some of his earlier career there and has since stated multiple times that he hated his time there.

Kenny left the training centre and joined the independent scene. Omega has been wrestling with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) for the past four years now. Before that Kenny wrestled for New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW), Ring Of Honour (ROH), and even Total NonStop Action (TNA).

Now the time has come though that Kenny may finally be joining forces with WWE.

Omegas contract with AEW is coming to a close and wrestling insider Dave Meltzer reports that the WWE is interested in signing him.

This would be a huge signing for the WWE and Omega.

Omega has massive star potential that has clearly been showcased in the smaller promotions over the past few years. However, there is no better place to show off your star power then the WWE.

Time will tell if this deal gets done but wrestling fans are hoping they finally get the chance to see Kenny Omega in the WWE!

Canada Loves Sami Zayn!

Sami Zayn may not have left the Elimination Chamber with the title belts last night, but he still owns the hearts of all World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) fans, especially in his hometown of Montreal.

Sami Zayn took on Roman Reigns last night when the Elimination Chamber event came to Montreal. Sami was looking to do the impossible and beat the champion Roman Reigns. Roman had been un beaten in 900 days though, and it was unlikely he would lose to Sami Zayn last night.

The Montreal WWE fans didn’t care though. When Sami Zayn’s entrance music hit the crowd lost their mind.

It’s been awhile since Sami Zayn had his old theme song but when the nostalgic song came on and Sami started to make his entrance the entire arena started to sing along to his very catchy theme.

You could see that Sami Zayn was overcome with emotion for just a few seconds, and he took it all in. Then Sami used the crowds energy to fuel him, and he charged down to the ring to face off against the Tribal Chief Roman Reigns.

The match was a very close one with Sami losing due to interference from the USOs. As the Bloodline started to beat Sami down once again, Kevin Owens came to Sami’s aid. The two best friends and hometown hero’s beat up the Bloodline much to the satisfaction of the Montreal crowd.

It could have been a missed opportunity for the WWE to not book Sami winning the titles last night, but Sami Zayn is still a superstar, especially in his hometown of Montreal.

ADCC has decided to expand their horizons these past few years though, recently hosting a competition in Vegas that was open to anyone, not just the professionals. Now ADCC has announced that they will be coming to Ottawa with another open tournament on April 23rd.

Brandon Briglio Is In A MMA Title Fight Only A Year Into Training!

Brandon Briglio has had a wild start to his fighting career and makes his return to Battle Field Fight League (BFL) on March 30th at the Harbour Convention Centre.

https://www.instagram.com/p/Ck5JumUu49SWoV9C-6uNxzSW-rF18f51laqe0Q0/?igshid=NDk5N2NlZjQ=

Brandon is a promising mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter with a 1-0 amateur record. Brandon got into MMA to challenge himself:

“I love pushing myself wether it was with soccer, weightlifting, wrestling, I enjoy doing new things and seeing what i’m capable of.”

Brandon has only been training in MMA for just over a year now, but has already been offered a amateur title shot at BFL 76. It’s not often that a fighter gets offered a title fight this early in their career even at the amateur level. Brandon had a impressive performance in his first fight though which led to BFL owners and promoters offering him the opportunity:

“I dominated my MMA debut back in December and I guess the owner liked what he saw. I’m really grateful for the opportunity, to show off my skill/ hard work I’ve been into this sport thus far.”

It’s not just the early title shot that is unprecedented about Brandon’s career though. This type of progress for a fighter just over a year into their career is unheard of in the fight community. Brandon says at the end of the day it just comes down to his hard work and mentality:

“I think it comes down to my mentality. I refuse to give up on myself and everyone who has put the time and effort to help me in my training.”

Brandon’s MMA career is certainly a intriguing one so far and it’s only getting better.

Roman VS Sami-Who Wins Tonight In Montreal?

Sami Zayn and Roman Reigns have been involved in a captivating storyline for months now. Tonight the story comes to a close as the two men will face off at the Elimination Chamber event. Who will win this match up that’s been building for close to a year?

My money is on Roman Reigns.

All the stars are aligning for Sami Zayn to win tonight. The match will take place in his home town of Montreal, he has his old theme song back, and he is without a doubt the most popular wrestler in the roster right now.

However, for Roman Reigns to lose his undisputed championship right before the biggest pay per view (PPV) event of the year Wrestlemania makes no sense. Roman has held on to the title for 900 days and I don’t believe he’s going to lose it at just some random pay per view.

Roman Reigns faction The Bloodline will for sure come in to play on this one. I predict that they interfere costing Sami the match. While they beat Sami down I believe Romans Wrestlemania opponent Cody Rhodes will come to the aid of Sami Zayn, setting up a triple threat match for the titles at Wrestlemania.

Who will win at Wrestlemania? That question is harder to predict. But bet the house that Roman Reigns retains his titles tonight at the Elimination Chamber event.

Canadian MMA Journalist Has Great Opinion On Pound For Pound #1 Debate!

Ariel Helwani is a Canadian born combat sports journalist. In his two decades of experience he’s covered promotions like UFC, Bellator, Pride, and many more. His large popularity in the sport is due to his hard hitting questions, and professionalism he brings to every interview. He is without a doubt the face of combat sports journalism.

Last weekend pound for pound #1 fighter in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Alexander Volkanovski took on pound for pound #2 fighter in the UFC Islam Makhachev.

The fight was a super close one and went to a judges decision that saw Islam Makhachev win by unanimous decision.

Half of UFC fans were outraged by this outcome as they thought Volkanovski won. The other half thought Islam won. The question on everyone’s mind though was who is the new #1 pound for pound fighter in the UFC. Islam officially won the fight but Volkanovski was the one who moved up in weight, and made the fight Islam’s closest to date.

https://www.instagram.com/reel/CopZnRjj33N/?igshid=NDk5N2NlZjQ=

Ariel Helwani decided to share his input on the situation. He says that going into the fight his opinion was that Volkanovski was #1 and Islam was only #3. Now he has Islam at #2 and Volkanovski stays the pound for pound king.

I tend to agree with this opinion. Volkanovski moved up a weight class and showed that if he was the same size he would have won the fight. That’s what the pound for pound rankings are all about. If all the fighters were at the same weight who would win? In my opinion I don’t think theirs a fighter in the world who could beat Volkanovski at the same weight, and that’s why he remains the pound for pound king.

Canucks Debut New Goalie-It Doesn’t Go Well

Vancouver Canucks lost another close game Wednesday night to the New York Rangers.

The Canucks were debuting a new goalie on Wednesday night as both their main goalies are out due to injury. Arturs Silvos stepped up to the plate on short notice to save the game.

Arturs had some nice saves early in the first period and the Canucks were able to get out to a early lead when Dakota Joshua banked one in. The Rangers quickly answered back though as Mika Zibanejad brought the puck up the ice and shot the puck right past the new goalie. The pressure seemed to get to Arturs after this one as Artemi Panarin easily shot one past Arturs to take the lead. The Canucks fought back though as J.T Miller slap shotted the puck in to tie the game. The Rangers finished the period with a goal as Artemi Panarin got his second goal of the night by putting the puck right between Arturs legs.

The second period was more of the same for the Canucks as Chris Kreider started out the period scoring for the Rangers. Conor Garland scored for the Canucks halfway through the second period but it wasn’t enough for the Canucks as K’Andre Miller scored for the Rangers giving them the two goal lead to end the period.

The third period was certainly better for the Canucks for the new goalie and Andre Kuzmenko closed the gap early with a nice slap shot. Trailing by just one goal the Canucks decided to pull their new goalie to play the extra man. It didn’t work out for them though as Mika Zibanejad scored his second goal of the night on the empty net. Final score 6-4 for the Rangers.

For his first NHL game Arturs Silvos didn’t do a terrible job. However, the Canucks problems clearly lie with their lack of a reliable goalie and struggling defence.

The Canucks play the Flyers tomorrow night at home.
