Rogers Arena is host to another concert, this time it is Kygo preforming on his World Tour. He is a Norwegian DJ and songwriter who has many accomplishments. In late 2015, he reached one billion streams on Spotify faster than any other artist, and by June 2016, he had reached two billion streams. He also preformed at the closing ceremony at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Kygo is energetic and always puts on a great performance. There is no better way to start the weekend heading into a Friday!

There are lots of great things to do thorough the week. I have no doubt that you will be able to find the perfect show for you!

World Renowned Violinist at Guilty and Co.

Ahhhh Sunday, the day of rest and relaxation. The day to revitalize yourself and get ready for the upcoming week. We all need it, but if you are anything like me, I can’t just sit around in the house all day and do nothing. Guilt and Company is offering the perfect way to get out of the house, while also rejuvenating yourself for next week.

Head on down to Guilt and Co. tonight at 9pm to listen to world renowned violinist and composer, Lache Cercel. Lache Cercel was born in Bucharest, Romania and studied at Romania’s prestigious Academy of Arts.

Cercel is credited with creating a new genre of music called Roma Jazz. He achieved this by merging Eastern influences with Western musicology. Cercel takes contemporary European Roma recordings, and adds his own vision, seeming to relax the song.

Cercel’s music is calming and soothing, perfect for a Sunday night. Beyond that, his music seems to make you more happy and relaxed.

Beyond just the sounds of his music, watching him play is just as impressive. I can only imagine how difficult it is to be able to play the violin. Cercel produces such intricate sounds that his fingers and hand have to move super fast, and in coordination, which is just so impressive to me.

For those of you who are thinking a single violinist will be boring, I assure you it would not, but Lanche Cercel is backed up by an entire jazz ensemble. Cercel and the jazz ensemble combine to create perfect sounds, each getting their own chance to shine.

Tickets to tonights event can be purchased at the door. Doors open at 9pm and the music is set to kickoff around 9:30pm.

If you are looking to get out of the house, but keep that relaxed Sunday vibe going, then look no further. There will be no screaming or yelling at this performance. There will be no mosh pits or heavy bass kicking all night long. This is the perfect place to meet a few friends, grab a couple drinks, listen to some amazing jazz music, and get ready for the week ahead.

Lanche Cercel and his jazz ensemble promise to put on an amazing performance tonight, and it is one that you definitely do not want to miss.

Legendary Hans Zimmer Live at Rogers Arena

Are you sad that the weekend is almost over? It may be Monday morning tomorrow, but that dosn’t mean that it is not still the weekend tonight. Why not make the most of your Sunday night by heading on down to Rogers Arena and listening to none other than Hans Zimmer live.

For those who are unfamiliar with the legendary Hans Zimmer, he is a German composer and music producer. He has won two Oscars and four Grammys, and has been nominated for countless others.

Even if you did not know it at the time, I am sure that you have heard some of his music at some point or another. Zimmer composed the soundtrack for classic films such as, The Lion King (1994)The Prince of Egypt (1998), Gladiator (2000), and Batman Begins (2005). That is not to say that he has stopped as the years have gone on, Hans Zimmer has only continued to evolve and improve.

More recently, Zimmer has worked on projects such as Dune (2021) and Kung Fu Panda 4 (2024). Look up some of your all-time favourite movies, I am sure that Hans Zimmer has worked on at least a few of them. He has over 150 films that he has composed music for after all.

Zimmer has a very distinct and noticeable sound to his songs. He is known for adding electronic sounds on top of traditional orchestral arrangements. When just starting out, this made Zimmer’s music stand out and sound different than movies had in the past. People liked this, and the rest is history for Zimmer.

Expect to hear all of his top film hits during his performance. Songs on the setlist include hits from, Dune, Dunkirk, The Last Samurai, and more!

Now I know what you might be thinking, if it is just songs from movies, that could result in a pretty boring show. Normally, I would probably agree with you, but this is Hans Zimmer we are talking about here. His resume speaks for itself, and his track list is unparalleled by anyone.

However, if that is still not enough to convince you it will be entertaining, reading reviews from his last performance in Toronto, he does not skimp out on the theatrics. There will be enough flashing lights and dancers to accompany the music, and keep you entertained all night long.

Tickets are available online and start at around $150 and range all the way up to over $1,000. Do not miss your chance to watch this legendary composer live, and listen to his songs in a way you have never heard them before.

Listen to the ‘Blue Album” in Full Live

The weekend is only 2 days long. I know, it is so sad, but nothing really we can do to change it. But you know what you can do to make the most of the limited time. You can head on down to Rogers Arena and rock out all night long with Weezer. This is their only stop in BC on this tor, so do not miss this opportunity.

Weezer is an American rock band hailing from Los Angeles, California. The band was created in 1992 and released their debut album to the world in 1994. Blue Album was a huge success and propelled Weezer into the publics eye. With hits like Buddy Holly, Undone-The Sweater Song, and Say It Ain’t Sothis album went multiplatinum.

Weezer is currently on their Voyage To The Blue Planet Tour, celebrating the 30th anniversary of their Blue Album. According to the bands official website, “not only are we playing the album in full each and every night of the tour, but we also plan on playing all of your favorite Weezer songs, rarities and more.”

I am absolutely positive that each and every show on this tour is a great experience. Their Blue Album is one of my favourites from them, and getting to hear the entirety of it live wold be amazing. There is so much more in their discography aside from just tunes on the Blue Album. Songs like Island In The Sun and Beverly Hills are two of my all-time favourite Weezer tunes. Expect the band to do more than just pay tribute to their first album.

Also preforming tonight, is The Flaming Lips and dinosaur jr. Both bands are part of the Voyage To The Blue Planet Tour.

The Flaming Lips are a psychedelic rock band from Oklahoma. The band formed in 1983 and has been tearing up stages ever since. The group has won three Grammy Awards, including two for Best Rock Instrumental Performance. I would say they are the perfect opening act for Weezer.

The other band opening for Weezer is Dinosaur Jr. Formed in 1984 has went through many name and member changes to get to the point they are now. They were always thought of as “ahead of their time” and continue to push the musical boundaries.

Three great bands, what more could you need for a Saturday night. Tickets are starting around $70 and are moving quick, so act fast and secure your now. This is one epic performance that you are most defiantly not going to want to miss.

Indie Sleaze Revival: A Night of Dance, Pop, and Hip-Hop at Fox Cabaret

Do you miss the music from your younger years? Do you find yourself going back to those older hits? If that is the case, then you should head on down to The Fox Cabaret tonight for a throwback party!

The Fox Cabaret will be hosting a tribute to the 2010’s party. Relive you’re favourite songs from the past decade. This event is sure to spark some nostalgia. I’m sure that they will be playing songs that you totally forgot about.

The music scene has really changed even in just the last 10 years. With artists like Drake, B.o.B, The Black Keys, and Maroon 5 really emerging as superstars and innovating the sounds of hit music.

Tonights event is not about just relistening to old hits, its about remembering who you were at that time. All these artists have grown and changed so much over the last 10 years, tonight is a great opportunity to realize how much you yourself have grown in the last 10 years.

Where were you when The Weeknd released, Can’t Feel My Face? That song released June of 2015, I was a sophomore in high school thinking my next hockey game was the most important thing in life. Almost 9 years later, I am at my second university and have very different values and goals in life.

When you hear these songs tonight, that you haven’t heard in a long time, think about where / who you are compared to when the song first released. I am almost positive that you will be able to look back and see how far you have come.

Doors open tonight at 10:30pm and be prepared to go all night long. Tickets are available online for $13. Tickets are selling quick, so act fast and reserve your spot soon. If all the tickets are sold out online, then you can buy them at the door (on a first come, first serve basis) for $18.

Don’t miss your chance to relive all the best rock / hip-hop and indie hits from the past decade. The Fox Cabaret always puts on an incredible time, and I am sure that tonight will be no different.

Tonight is your chance to travel back in time 10 years, and experience all that great music again!

Camaro 67 Live at Guilt and Company

Are you looking for something to do tonight? Tired of sitting at home all alone on a Friday night? Well then its time to get up and head down to Guilt and Company, for a night of unforgettable music.

For tonight only, the amazing Camaro 67 will be lighting up the stage at Guilt and Co. Camaro 67 is a powerhouse in the Vancouver music scene, fusing old-school Afrobeat and new-school Afrofunk into one electrifying sound.

The band is made up of 10 members, all of whom contribute to the amazing sounds. Drawing from influences such as Fela Kuti and Tony Allen, this 10-piece instrumental group has quickly gained attention for the incredible energy of their live performances.

The band was formed in 2015 and wasted no time becoming a household name. Their debut album, Burn Rubber, Not Soul, put them on the map. Released in 2018, their second album, Still Burning, cemented them as one of Vancouvers must-see acts. If you have never seen these guys preform live, then you defiantly do not want to miss your chance tonight.

Aside from just rocking out stages, Camaro 67 has played in some pretty huge festivals across the province, like the Vancouver International Jazz Festival, Celebration of Light, and the Vancouver Dragon Boat Festival. These guys are no stranger to the limelight having preformed with Reggae icon Alpha Blondy.

Their sound, merging Afrobeat’s rich rhythms with modern elements of funk has made them a stand-out act, not only in Vancouver, but all throughout North America. Whether it is at festival ground or at an intimate venue, like Guilt and Co. tonight, Camaro 67 is sure to get you up on your feet dancing.

The fun starts tonight at 10pm and plans to go well past 2am and into the morning. I’m sure that with the energy of Camaro 67 you will hardly know that you will have been rocking well into the wee hours of the morning.

If you have never heard of Camaro 67 before, I highly recommend heading out to Guilt and Company tonight and taking in the concert. I promise that it is not one that you will forget soon.

So make sure you bring your dancing shows and a good attitude, because this show promises to leave you as a fan of Camaro 67 for a lifetime.

Griff is a 23 year old singer-songwriter from England. She released he debut single, Mirror Talk, in 2019 and it was met with great reviews. Earlier this year, in July, she released her debut studio album titled Vertigo. While the album is still very new, it is definitely a hit with songs like Vertigo and Miss Me Too already over 15 million plays on Spotify alone. If you are a fan of strong lyrics with even stronger beats in the background, then you will enjoy Griff‘s music. She reminds me of Olivia Rodrigo, no shade to Olivia, however I actually find myself grooving to Griff‘s music. Her songs are very powerful, and just make you want to sing and dance along.

Griff is only increasing her popularity with the tour she is currently on. She has 18 shows over the course of the next 30 days of October. If you are a fan of strong and powerful lyrics, then you should head out to The Commodore Ballroom, tonight and check out Griff live.

Griff does not seem to be slowing down any time soon, and I could see her becoming the next Taylor Swift. I honestly think that she is that good. Don’t miss this opportunity to see her live before she takes over the world and ticket prices jump in price.
