Tonight The New York Knicks host the Boston Celtics in a pivotal game 6 at Madison Square Garden in New York. The Knicks will be trying to get to an Eastern Conference Final for the first time in 25 plus years. The Celtics on the other hand will try to stave off elimination and keep defending there NBA Championship.
The Knicks last time out lost a tough game Jalen Brunson and Karl Anthony-Towns were in foul trouble and the Celtics took full advantage. Derrick White hit 7 3 point shots and Jaylen Brown had a cool 26 points as the Celtics were in cruise control entering the 4th quarter. Luke Kornet also had a big game last time out as he had a near double double getting 10 points and 9 rebounds not to mention his insane 7 blocks which was a season high for him and any Celtic on the roster. Porzingus who was out in the 2nd half of game 5 will be available in game 6.
This game is a must win for both teams as the Knicks do not want to go play in Boston for a game 7. Espn’s game predictor gives the Knicks a 58% chance of winning this game and i would say lower it to 55% and we got a deal. The Celtics have a lot of fight left in them even without there best player this Celtics team is constructed great and can shoot the lights out on any given night. If the Celtics want to get it done they are going too need big games out of Derrick White, Jaylen Brown, and Kristaps Porzingus. Porzingus has not lived up to expectations this series so if he can get that motor going we could be heading for a game 7 Sunday night.
MSG is one of the hardest arenas to play in on the road this year in the NBA. The Knicks are the 9th best team at home this season as for the Celtics they are the 7th best team on the road showcasing why it is so important to close this series at home for the Knicks. As for my Prediction on the game tonight, The Knicks get it done. Jalen Brunson and Karl Anthony-Towns will have huge games the Celtics will keep it close but the Home energy will be enough to see it through for the Knicks.
