The BC lions are opening there season June 7th against the Edmonton Elks and over 50,000 people are set to attend the season opener for the Lions. There is a twist though as Snoop Dogg will be preforming 1 hour before the game this is the Lions 4th annual performance combining sports and music. Last year the Lions opened with 50 cent performing and with both performances bringing in massive crowds i do not think this tradition stops for the Lions. This tradition started in 2022 with the Lions having One Republic out before there season opener. The decision to have Snoop Dogg headline this year hopes to bring momentum and attract a more diverse fanbase for the Lions. The Lions actually sold over 10,000 tickets alone yesterday and have opened the upper end zone now for more fans who want to attended.  https://x.com/RoarReport/status/1922695059708768679

Snoop Dogg has been a massive figure in the music industry for over 30 plus years. With hits like “Gin and Juice”, “Still a G thang”, and featuring on “Still Dre”, Snoop Dogg is a very influential artist. His recent performances include performing at the Super Bowl, and the closing ceremonies for the 2024 olympic games and he is rumoured to be helping in the 2028 Olympics in LA.

Lions owner Amar Doman showed real excitement about the upcoming season opener saying “I’m very excited to bring Snoop Dogg, one of the most entertaining and decorated rap performers of all-time, to Vancouver to help us begin our 71st season of Lions football.” Tickets for the game/Concert experience are still available, but all of the lower bowl is SOLD OUT. There are still some upper bowl tickets remaining and are going for around 40 bucks plus fees on ticket master right now.

Fans are encouraged to arrive early so they can enjoy the backyard party on Terry Fox Plaza, which will have the usual party stuff like food, drinks and games leading up to the concert and game. June 7th seems like an overall fun time to be a Lions Fan and there is a lot to be excited about if you are a Lions fan this year. The Lions will look to build off there defeat in the CFL Division Semi finals loss. The Lions have not lifted a Grey Cup trophy since 2011 it has been 14 years. Lets hope Snoop Dogg can give the Lions some good luck and hopefully this can be the start of a Grey Cup winning campaign.
