Introverts VS Extroverts

Are you more introverted or extroverted? Or maybe you’re like me and consider yourself somewhere in between. We’ve all heard the classic personality divide, introverts love peace and quiet and extroverts, the opposite. But is it all really that simple? I mean I consider myself an extroverted introvert. Or maybe this is all confusing and you aren’t even sure where you stand.

Introverts are known to thrive within their own company. Introverts don’t need to go into any social settings to feel seen but they also aren’t shy or antisocial they just feel more energized by quiet environments. I always view an introvert to be really secure with themselves, they know they don’t need a crowd around and are confident in their independence, which I think is great. If you’re more introverted you probably like more meaningful one-on-one conversations than shallow small talk at a bar. So what’s the perfect for an introvert? Probably a cozy evening at home, reading a book, watching a movie, or enjoying a solo hobby.

On the flip side of things, extroverts actually gain their energy and recharge their batteries in social settings. If you’re an extrovert than I bet you feel more alive surrounded by other people whether it’s at a bar with strangers or maybe just a get together with your friends, you are loving the action. Extroverts tend to be more outgoing and expressive, enjoying fast-paced conversations and spontaneous plans. A night in? Sure, but only if it involves a group of friends playing some card games and laughing.

But I don’t think you have to be one or other at all, I fall right in the middle as an extroverted introvert. So why do I call myself an extroverted introvert? Well I don’t always love being alone, and I feel like being alone doesn’t charge my social battery, I definitely feed off other people. I love chatting and socializing but sometimes a flip switches and enough is enough, I’m over it, time to go home, leave me alone. What way do you think you lean more? Or maybe you’re like me and are a fun little mix of both.
