25th Hockey Day In Canada!

When you ask a non Canadian who isn’t too familiar with the country what does Canada have? They will probably answer with maple syrup, polar bears, igloos, and hockey. All the stereotypical things. And while some may be true, one stereotype Canada really leans into as a country is hockey. And what better way to channel that stereotype than a whole day devoted to it! Hockey Day in Canada is this Saturday and here is everything you need to know about it.

This Saturday will mark the 25th Hockey Day in Canada which is being hosted in Canmore Alberta this year. Canadians are able to see all 7 Canadian NHL teams in action stretching from Vancouver’s West Coast to Toronto’s East. The excitement and camaraderie of the day will be available with all the games will be broadcasted on Sportsnet.

Ron Maclean has hosted each and every Hockey Day in Canada to date and he will not be stopping at number 25. Ron will take fans and hockey enthusiasts along for a day of all things hockey. Bringing Canadians to the core of their culture with good old Canadian hockey.

There is a very special opening event planned however no information has been said about it yet. Ron is keeping this opening show a close secret however I don’t doubt it will be amazing and the perfect way to kick off the day.

This event is for everyone as well and everyone can take in on the fun. There will be a Fan Fest area which will have some Ball Hockey to get fans and engaged and part of the day. This is for all ages and levels and there will also be an adaptive game as well.

If you are planning on attending dress warm it is going to be a chilly -15 so bundle up and put on your toques and mittens and really hone into your Canadian culture!
