Injury Update On Brock Boeser and Jonathan Lekkerimäki

Looks like the Canucks have just released an update and unfortunately both Brock Boeser and Jonathan Lekkerimäki might not be playing for a while due to injuries.

If this is the first time you’re hearing about this then I’ll give you the background info on what happened.

First let’s look at Brock Boeser. During the Canucks last game on November. 7th when they were going up against the Los Angeles Kings, Boeser was badly injured during the beginning of the first period. Boeser received this injury taking a high hit from LA Kings player Tanner Jeannot. From what the clip shows after he passed the puck to his teammate, Jeannot came up on his left and aggressively shoved him onto the ice where Boeser and receiving a blow to his head in the process. After this blow, Boeser collapsed on the ice in severe pain and was quickly escorted off of the ice to receive medical help for his injury.

In the recent update on the situation, The Canucks general manager Patrik Allvin said that Boeser is still being evaluated and it was revealed that he received an upper-body injury after taking that hit. After this The head coach of the Canucks Rick Tocchet gave a further update of his own on the situation where he said the injury nothing horrible but right now Boeser might be away indefinitely:

“I talked to Brock a little bit briefly, He doesn’t feel great, but I wouldn’t say it’s horrible. I think it’s indefinite right now. These things can change in a week, or [even] 24 hours, I don’t know. We’ll monitor him.”

As mentioned, another player from the Canucks received an injury as Allvin also said that Jonathan Lekkerimäki tweaked something recently and wasn’t able play for the Abbotsford Canucks that night. Not much is currently known about Lekkerimäki’s situation but I as well as other fans hope that it is nothing too serious.

It’s terrible to see that the Canuck players are getting injured and might not be able to play for a while with in Boesers case it might be indefinitely as they are still evaluating his injury. I hope that both members of the team have a smooth recovery and their injuries are nothing too serious. I guess we will have to wait on the next update to see what will happen and if both players are still able to play on the ice if not now then maybe for next season. Once again, Prayers that its nothing to serious and both have a smooth recovery process.
