The boys are back! The newest installment in the TPB movie franchise is set to star the original trio of characters. With Mike Smith portraying Bubbles, Robb Wells as Ricky, and John Paul Tremblay as Julian. As well as Patrick Roach playing Randy. This will be the fourth feature length and theatrical release for the Trailer Park Boys franchise. With their last film “Don’t Legalize It” coming out in 2014.
The movie will also feature Billy Bob Thornton as the lead singer of the band “Boxmasters”. Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood and actors Martin Freeman and Robert Sheehan will also feature in the film.
The film will follow Bubbles and his band “The Shitrockers” as they travel to Europe hoping to open for Billy Bob Thornton’s band. But after traveling to Prague they are kicked off the tour, and must survive through Europe as they try to find their way back home to Nova Scotia. Plenty of TPB hijinx to happen in this film, as along the way Ricky and Julian will also get up to their regular trouble, and this time in Europe as they help try to get themselves and Bubbles home.
The film’s release date is reportedly set for December 6th, 2024, and shooting is reportedly wrapped up and the film is in the post production phase. Along with the release of the film, there is also a 14 song album that will be released as well by The Shitrockers on Spotify and Apple Music, with the actor of Bubbles, Mike Smith, actually front manning the band. It is also said that the band will go on an American/European tour with special performances from Billy Bob Thornton and The Boxmasters. No tour dates have been announced yet, but it is believed it will start a bit after the release of the movie, along with the album.
If you need to catch up on your TPB history all 16 seasons, and other films in the franchise are available to stream on Netflix.
