I could not be more excited that in just less than a month, one of my favourite artists is going to be stepping on stage at Rogers Arena for his Past Present Future Tour…
That’s right! The iconic “Yeah!” R&B singer Usher is coming to Vancouver for not 1 but 2 nights! I have been looking forward to this concert since February, so you can bet I am extremely excited about this one!
Usher, (Usher Terry Raymond IV), is an American musician from Dallas, Texas who first gained attention in the late 90s before being put completely in the spotlight of R&B music in the early 2000s. After the 1990s, the early 2000s was a golden age for rhythm and blues music and musicians. Alongside Usher, artists such as Beyoncé, Alicia Keys, Ne-Yo and many others were considered icons of 2000s R&B music. Usher is known for his smooth vocals and sensual ballads. Some of his songs from his early days as an artist include “U Got It Bad”, “You Make Me Wanna…”, and my personal favourite “U Remind Me”.
On February 6th, Usher announced his Past Present Future Tour not long before he performed at the Super Bowl halftime show earlier this year. His halftime show performance included hits such as “Caught Up”, which he opened the performance with, and “U Don’t Have to Call”. I was already an Usher fan long before the Super Bowl, however, seeing what an incredible show he put on in just a 13-minute act, I knew there was no way I wasn’t getting tickets to see him live.
Now I bought these tickets on presale but let me just say I went to war on the ticket master site trying to secure these tickets. I thought because he was coming to Vancouver for two nights, that securing tickets for his added November 8th date would be easy, but I was very wrong. I tried about 10 times, and every time I was about to checkout, someone else had already claimed the seats I wanted. After spending what felt like the whole morning on ticket master, I was finally able to secure two tickets for the second night in the lower bowl.
Usher announced his tour at the perfect time because my sister’s birthday is mid-February, so I got to surprise her with Usher tickets on her birthday, and in my opinion concert tickets are the absolute best birthday present, name something better, I’ll wait…
Well, the countdown till November 8th is on! I am looking forward to hearing what songs Usher will perform on this tour. The tour kicked off on August 20th in Washington, DC and will run into 2025. I haven’t spoiled it for myself by looking at any setlists yet but judging by the name of the tour I think we can expect lots of songs from his early albums such as 8701 and Confessions, as well as some of his newer pieces from COMING HOME, his ninth studio album which was released earlier this year. And I’m hoping for maybe some unreleased stuff as well.
There are still limited tickets available for both nights, November 7th and 8th, so if you want to secure a seat for either night, be sure to get them ASAP! Click here for more ticket details. You definitely will not want to miss this exciting night seeing the king of 2000s R&B himself.
