Vancouver is home to many prestigious music venues across the city. Each and every night there are multiple artists preforming. Some trying to make a name for themselves, and others trying to extend an already existing legacy. Always make sure that you are following some of your favourite venues on social media, or find a website, to stay up to date and never miss a show in Vancouver.
Just saying, here is a good website to keep in mind 😉
Now that that is out of the way, let’s take a look at some of the best concerts/shows you should check out this week.
Monday – Oct. 7
Kiesza is live at the Fox Cabaret at 7pm. Kiesza is a Canadian singer and multi-instrumentalist from Calgary. She has a house / pop style and has released various albums to date. In 2014 she was the opening act for Demi Lovato on her Demi World Tour.
Also on Monday, Luna Li is live at Fortune Sound Club. Mondays always suck, but this is the perfect way to forget about all the crappy stuff that happened during the day. Grab some friends and go enjoy Luna Li on her rise to superstardom.
Tuesday – Oct. 8
Justice is live at Pacific Coliseum at 7pm. Justice is an electronic music duo from Paris, France, who formed in 2003. They make dance / electronic music but fuse in elements from all sorts of genres including, rock, prog, metal, new wave, and indie. This show is sure to be high tempo, so bring your energy. Tickets are available online and range from $50 to $90.
Maybe this week you want to be the one to be doing the singing. If thats the case, be sure to check out Funky Winker Beans on W Hastings St. They have Karaoke every night starting and 9:30 and going “until late.”
Wednesday – Oct. 9
Head on down to the Vogue Theatre and check out Intocable on their 30 Aniversario Tour. Intocable is an American band from Zapata, Texas formed in the early 90s. They won a Grammy Award for Best Mexican/Mexican-American Album (2005) and another one in 2011 for Best Norteño Album (2011). They style is unique, so if you are looking for a great time in the middle of the week, grab your tickets now.
Thursday – Oct. 10
Rogers Arena is host to another concert, this time it is Kygo preforming on his World Tour. He is a Norwegian DJ and songwriter who has many accomplishments. In late 2015, he reached one billion streams on Spotify faster than any other artist, and by June 2016, he had reached two billion streams. He also preformed at the closing ceremony at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Kygo is energetic and always puts on a great performance. There is no better way to start the weekend heading into a Friday!
There are lots of great things to do thorough the week. I have no doubt that you will be able to find the perfect show for you!
