Have you ever been on a field trip as a kid and got taken to Science World? It has to be one of the best feelings, whether you agree with me or not, it was way better than any boring old field trip. The bus ride there as you and your friends sit together, talking about all the exciting things you’ll get to see and witness. Science World is a staple of Vancouver and easily recognizable by its spherical building, no matter your age, adult or a kid, there is something for everyone.
Who wants to go to Science World together? 😍 🧪

If you haven’t heard by now, Science World is offering free admission for one day only on Friday September 20th between 9:30am-5pm, and you should be sure to check it out, because it’s free and fun! It really doesn’t get better than that. Science World currently has an ongoing partnership with Amazon Canada, which has given the opportunity for family and friends to check out the action packed dome, and learn about their new Tech-Up initiative.
With the new Tech-Up initiative, that means you get to see things that have never taken place at Science World before. You can head down to a presentation from an Amazon Future Engineer, which will have a Tech-Up showcase, along with another showcase of robotics. There are many more fun events going on around the building that day, as they will have computer science workshops and even a huge focus on programming/coding in STEAM.
There will be many more exciting things going on that day, as you will be able to have hands-on experience with robotics and coding. If you find yourself not so interested in all the Science going on, don’t worry, as there will be a “Your Voice Is Power” workshop where you get to remix music and combine it with STEM education. Lastly, there will be a guest speaker! Even better, it’s also a live music performance! Dakota Bear, who is a Vancouver based indigenous hip-hop artist and activist, will be performing live at noon and also will hold a meet and greet, so you can say hello!
If you are planning on heading down to Vancouver on the 20th, then be sure to head there early as the last time Science World did an event like this, the lines were jam packed. Are you going to be attending, I know I might have to check it out.
