A press statement makes reference to the tragic loss of drummer Taylor Hawkins last year, suggesting that the album “But Here We Are” is an honest and emotionally raw reaction to the band’s experiences over the last year. Hawkins passed away in Bogotá, Colombia, at the age of 50, while on tour with the band. The band called off the rest of their performances.

At the close of 2022, Foo Fighters performed two special all-star tribute gigs in honour of Hawkins. They plan to pick up their festival and touring schedule again come May. The band’s last album, Medicine at Midnight (2021), was their last.

Track list:

01 Rescued

02 Under You

03 Hearing Voices

04 But Here We Are

05 The Glass

06 Nothing at All

07 Show Me How

08 Beyond Me

09 The Teacher

More about Foo Fighters

Dave Grohl, formerly of Nirvana, created the Foo Fighters, an American rock band, in 1994. The band is widely regarded as one of the most successful rock acts of the last few decades, what with their 10 studio albums and a number of industry awards.

Their sound is high-octane and infectious, drawing from several musical genres such as classic rock, punk, and heavy metal. Over the years, Grohl has been the only member to remain consistent in the band’s lineup. Chris Shiflett on guitar, Nate Mendel on bass, Taylor Hawkins (1972-2022) on drums, and Rami Jaffee on keyboards make up the current lineup.

The Foo Fighters have performed at major music festivals including Lollapalooza and Glastonbury, as well as sold millions of CDs across the globe. They’ve worked with a ton of other musicians, too, including Paul McCartney, QOTSA, and Rick Springfield.

The Foo Fighters, in sum, have had an impressive career and made an indelible influence on the music business. However, in the aftermath of a potential disaster, it is inappropriate to make assumptions about their future output.
