My Artist’s Corner is hosting an Autumn Art Show on October 1st from 10 AM to 5 PM at the Shadbolt Center for the Arts 6450 Deer Lake Ave, Burnaby. They are a charity group that supports artists living with mental health issues. Admission and parking at the event are free.
This is a perfect event to kick off October, so go on out to Burnaby and help support a good cause while also picking up a beautiful work of art.
70 percent of the purchase price goes directly to the artist and the other 30 percent goes to MAC to purchase art materials. If buying from the website, you can even go on a lay away plan.
Their goal is to “to empower individuals to explore their artistic potential on their journey of mental health and wellness, while combating stigma through highlighting abilities rather than disabilities”.
Membership to MAC is available for people living with mental health issues that live in Burnaby or New Westminster. If you are interested in joining, contact the program coordinator Teresa at 778-855-1704.
