Incendiary Sweet: An Emerging Artist

A new name has risen in the BC music industry, Incendiary Sweet, or as most know her, Victoria Feige. Victoria is native to Vancouver and describes her style as indie rock with a touch of acoustic folk, although she draws inspiration from all genres of music. She often compares her recent work to the sounds of Jack Johnson and Metric.

During the coronavirus lockdown, she was able to invest more of her time and energy into writing and making music. During the summer of 2021, she released two singles, “Disaffected Scrolling Thru” and “Rolling On”. Both of these tunes got recognition across the country. Her most recent release “Fairytales” came out in early October and has quickly become her most listened to song. She teamed up with producer Winston Hauschild to support her in recording her singles.

Victoria was originally hesitant to dive into the music business after she suffered from a spinal cord injury. She was nervous to perform in a wheelchair but quickly gained confidence when she realized with the pandemic, she could record herself singing or playing guitar and adjust the camera, so the focus was on the music and not on the wheelchair.

Victoria is a jack of all trades, not only is she an aspiring musician but she is also a two-time world champion in adaptive surfing. After a snowboard accident left her partially paralyzed, she began to compete in adaptive surfing and found a community of likeminded people. She is currently training now to represent Canada in the Para Surf Worlds next month and hopes to reign in her third world title in the women’s division.

Victoria has high hopes for the future, she has goals of continuing to record and release music and hopes to one day do a live show and collaborate with some of her idols.
