Well Vancouver, if you are in search of your next Friday/Saturday night activity in Vancouver, I have the perfect thing for you. The Vancouver Warriors. Walking into Rogers Arena on a game night feels like stepping into a party at a lacrosse game. The music is loud, the fans are buzzing, and the game is electric. If you haven’t experienced a Warriors game yet, you might be surprised at just how much fun is packed into each game.
From the moment you enter, the entertainment is seriously non stop and amazing for all ages. Whether you’re standing in the party zone enjoying a couple of drinks with friends or in the stands with your family, there is something for everyone. The Warriors organization has mastered the art of keeping the crowd engaged and creating the best atmosphere. The pre-game with the live music, chants, and lights, gets the crowd ready for battle. And once the game is underway the energy only goes up from there. Every single goal and play is celebrated like a game winner.
Even in between plays the entertainment lives on. You’ll be able to catch the dance team on the turf getting the crowd hyped for the next play, on screen contests to get everybody involved, and even the occasional T-shirt throw! My personal favourite is catching the young future generation of local lacrosse players hitting the turf at half, it always brings a smile to my face. Thunder, the Warriors’ mascot is always around to keep the energy high too.
I have to say, the real magic is the fans. Warriors supporters are loud, passionate, and love to have a good time. They arrived decked out in merch and face paint proudly repping their team. Out of all the sports games I’ve been to, I’ve never felt such a sense of community as I have with the Warriors. Whether you’re a die hard lacrosse fan or just there for the fun, it truly feels like an inclusive environment for all and any sports fans.
Even coach Curt Malawsky expressed his appreciation of the fans, highlighting that they do really make a difference. Showing their support through loud cheers and showing up game after game is really meaningful to the team “they really do make a difference and hopefully they can keep that coming, we’re putting that hard work and that honest effort out to show them that we’re never going to cheat them, we just want them there to be nice and loud, and it does make a difference”.
Last weekend, the Warriors clutched a 15-13 win over the Georgia Swarm and I have to say, for someone like myself who doesn’t follow lacrosse as closely as other sports, I found out I’ve been seriously missing out. The games are intense and they are rough. It’s a high energy, fast paced game. The constant back and forth action, hard hitting plays, and shots on goal keep fans on the edge of their seats. Every possession holds potential and it’s really just constant action. The blend of skill and speed is mesmerizing and creates a thrilling atmosphere that’s hard to match.
As the final buzzer sounds, win or lose, the energy in the arena stays high. Fans linger, sharing stories of epic goals and clutch saves. Whether it’s your first game or your fiftieth, a Vancouver Warriors night is about more than just lacrosse , it’s about community, excitement, and having an unforgettable night out.
The next home game will be Friday April 4th at 7:00. The Warriors will be suiting up to play the Albany Firewolves and it is set to be a good one. Tickets are on sale through Ticketmaster. It’s also country night! So dust off your cowboy boots and get ready to party!
So, if you’re looking for a lively night full of action, music, and passionate fans, a Warriors game should be at the top of your Vancouver to-do list. Trust me, once you experience the electric atmosphere, you’ll be counting down the days until the next game. Whether it’s your next date night, or you’re looking for somewhere to get the family out for a good time, Rogers Arena on a Warriors game night is the place to be.
